Le rôle de la traduction dans l’échange des connaissances psychiatriques au XIXe siècle à travers Philippe Pinel (1745-1826)

L’objet de notre étude est de situer l’œuvre de Philippe Pinel (1745-1826) : Traité médico-philosophique sur l’aliénation mentale ou la manie, publié en 1801, dans l’histoire de la psychiatrie française et espagnole. Après un rapide rappel de ce qu’était le traitement de la folie depuis l’Antiquité jusqu’au XIXe siècle pour mieux juger de l’importance de Pinel, nous analysons les répercussions de ce traité, non seulement en France mais aussi en Espagne où il fut introduit grâce à la traduction de Luis Guarnerio y Allavena, Tratado médico-filosófico de la enagenación del alma o manía, publiée en 1804. A recent expanded edition of the book Asterusher by Michele Mari (2015 and 2019) suggests some reflections on the completeness of autobiographical discourse. The composition of the autobiographical phototext, with a systematic tripartite form and inspired by the tradition of the emblem, is identical in the two versions. The addition of some pages has not changed the original structure of the volume but asks questions about the possibilities of revision and/or completion of an autobiographical narrative, about the possibilities of rewriting an autobiography in the form of a diary, almost like a “curriculum” with continuous updating.

This study analyzes the repercussions and treatment of the production of the Valencian poet, Vicent Andrés Estellés during exile. It takes as a starting oint different moments and texts both from the post-war period and the sixties and the beginning of the eighties –especially during 1956, a seminal year in the evolution of the author. On the one hand, I have carried out an analysis of intertextual relations with Carles Riba with regard to the referent “Súnion” and its appearance in the Llibre de meravelles. This is a comparative study of the different positions of postverbal subjects in two closely related languages that nevertheless show clear differences in this respect. The comparative study will allow us to reject the idea that postverbal subjects in Romance languages are in a unique in situ position Spec VP as has been proposed recently (Motapayane1995, Ordóñez 1998, Costa 2000, Alexiadou i Anagnostopoulou 2001, Cardinaletti 2001). On the contrary, this study will show clearly that there is a need for two positions for postverbal subjects in order to understand the parametric differences between Catalan and Spanish.
