Julian’s personality is based on four virtues: philoponia, phronesis, philanthropia, sophrosyne. L'articolo presenta la ricerca sui resti dell tempio della Magna Mater nel Foro Vecchio di Leptis Magna. A partire dal 2006 l'edificio è stato accuratamente rilevato ed è stato avviato lo studio sistematico. Il tempio venne edificato in età Flavia, come testimonia l'iscrizione IRT 300, che tramanda anche il nome del finanziatore: Iddibal figlio di Basillec, nipote di Annobal, pronipote di Asmun.

La Dissertazione sopra la Tavola Annonaria è un saggio nel quale lo scienziato Luigi Ferdinando Marsili (1658-1730) descrisse un rilievo di età romana di sua proprietà, raffigurante scene relative alla produzione del pane. Si tratta di un testo che non era ancora stato esaminato a fondo nella sua interezza. Attraverso un’analisi serrata, ricca di rimandi alle testimonianze letterarie e di confronti con altre opere di scultura romane, Marsili dimostra il suo interesse per il mondo antico e il metodo rigoroso che applicava nei suoi studi.

The present paper aims at analyzing the unrest of the tribes located in the south of the province of Africa and of the reign of Mauretania, that escaped Roman authority. In particular, the research dwells on the hostilities undertaken by the Gaetulians under the principate of Augustus, such as to determine the intervention of the proconsul of Africa Cossus Cornelius Lentulus, given the magnitude of the bellum and in view of the fact that the king of Mauretania Juba II was unable to quell the con+ict.
