The techniques of spatial analysis and Remote Sensing represent an useful tool for the knowledge and the study of the Urban Heat Island phenomenon (English acronym UHI). In this study, among the different causes that lead to the generation of the event, those regarding physical features of the surface and the presence of different land use/cover such as: the high cover of urban areas and the lack of green areas have been examined. Optimal recovery of a radiating source with multiple frequencies along one line

We study an inverse problem where an unknown radiating source is observed with collimated detectors along a single line and the medium has a known attenuation. The research is motivated by applications in SPECT and beam hardening. If measurements are carried out with frequencies ranging in an open set, we show that the source density is uniquely determined by these measurements up to averaging over levelsets of the integrated attenuation. This leads to a generalized Laplace transform. We also discuss some numerical approaches and demonstrate the results with several examples.

L’utilizzo della cartografia nei GIS impone una riflessione sulle caratteristiche che essa deve possedere al fine di consentire le elaborazioni tipiche di questi sistemi e rende necessario verificare quali siano le informazioni che rimangono associate agli oggetti della classe al momento del caricamento dei dati, in formato DXF, all’interno di software GIS. Negli ultimi anni a livello internazionale sono state fissate norme tendenti a individuare linee guida per la definizione della struttura del contenuto semantico della cartografia numerica, delle caratteristiche geometriche e delle relazioni topologiche dell’informazione geografica.

Relativistic jets in active galactic nuclei represent one of the most powerful phenomena in the Universe. They form in the surroundings of the supermassive black holes as a by-product of accretion onto the central black hole in active galaxies. The flow in the jets propagates at velocities close to the speed of light. The distance between the first part of the jet that is visible in radio images (core) and the black hole is still a matter of debate. Conflict, Evolution, Hegemony, and the Power of the State

In a model of evolution driven by conflict between societies more powerful states have an advantage. When the influence of outsiders is small we show that this results in a tendency to hegemony. In a simple example in which institutions differ in their “exclusiveness” we find that these hegemonies will be inefficiently “extractive” in the sense of having inefficiently high taxes, high compensation for state officials, and low welfare.

L’articolo descrive le esperienze condotte per la valutazione metrica di blocchi aerei acquisiti con differenti sistemi APR utilizzati nell’ambito del rilievo di BB.CC.. Il lavoro è stato svolto su due siti che differiscono per estensione e caratteristiche morfologiche utilizzando due diverse piattaforme APR, un sistema multi-rotore e un sistema ad ala fissa.

Il problema di non avere un riferimento normativo nazionale, comporta che le leggi regionali che implicano VAS si differenzino a livello di metodologie, linguaggi e contenuti. La ricerca illustrata di seguito muove proprio da tali premesse: sulla base di un’analisi nazionale è risultato che le regioni Emilia Romagna, Toscana, Lombardia e Piemonte hanno maturato un livello di standardizzazione tale da renderle ottimi esempi in vista di future applicazioni dedicate allo sviluppo del territorio integrate con la valutazione ambientale.

At the end of 2012, the PON METRO National Scheme was set up in Italy, inspired by the EU Urban Agenda. This paper focuses on analysing the determinants of satisfaction (service quality, perceived value), as well as its possible influence on customer loyalty of freight forwarders to freight transport service providers (by road/maritime/air) in Spain. To this end, we propose a causal model tested using information from 205 freight forwarders collected through personal interviews. The model was estimated using the Partial Least Squares (PLS) approach. Recovering a variable exponent

We consider an inverse problem of recovering the non-linearity in the one dimensional variable exponent $p(x)$-Laplace equation from the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map. The variable exponent can be recovered up to the natural obstruction of rearrangements. The main technique is using the properties of a moment problem after reducing the inverse problem to determining a function from its $L^p$-norms.
