The intriguing human being : a cooperative CLIL material package for teaching human anatomy and senses through English in elementary school
2013
Vastineeksi näihin tarpeisiin on muodostunut erilaisia opetusmenetelmiä, joista yhtenä Suomeenkin levinnyt CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning). CLIL on nimeke opetukselle, joka tapahtuu oppijalle vieraalla kielellä. CLIL:iä ei kuitenkaan tule sekoittaa perinteisiin kielikylpymenetelmiin tai kaksikieliseen opetukseen vaan sillä on omat erityispiirteensä. CLIL opetuksella on kaksoisfokus kieleen ja sisältöön. Samanaikaisesti pyritään siis opettamaan niin kielellisiä…

Sustaining Attention for a Prolonged Duration Affects Dynamic Organizations of Frequency-Specific Functional Connectivity
2020
Sustained attention encompasses a cascade of fundamental functions. The human ability to implement a sustained attention task is supported by brain networks that dynamically formed and dissolved through oscillatory synchronization. The decrement of vigilance induced by prolonged task engagement affects sustained attention. However, little is known about which stage or combinations are affected by vigilance decrement. Here, we applied an analysis framework composed of weighted phase lag index (wPLI) and tensor component analysis (TCA) to an EEG dataset collected during 80 min sustained attention task to examine the electrophysiological basis of such effect. We aimed to characterize the phase…
Stakeholder perceptions of wood-based products in the built environment : a literature review
2022
Current global environmental challenges, such as climate change, set an urge to seek renewable low-emission alternatives to substitute fossil fuel-derived products while transitioning towards circular bioeconomy. Wood has proven to be a versatile renewable material that is able to substitute fossil-based materials. However, the market potential and uptake of wood-based products is also dependent on the preferences of consumers and other stakeholder groups. This paper presents a systematic literature review of studies examining stakeholder perceptions of wood-based products, which also resulted in the identification of research gaps and suggestions for future research directions. The results…
