In this article, I shall examine how the personal names of the Finnish-speaking population of rural Finland, who themselves were generally unable to write, were written in Swedish equivalents in various documents in the 18th and 19th centuries, and how this influenced the formation of their identities. The advent of laws governing language towards the end of the 19th and in the early 20th century was manifested in official documents in which the authorities gradually started to write personal names in Finnish. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tutkia johtajuutta kuoronjohtajan työssä ja tavoitteena oli selvittää miten johtajuus siinä rakentuu. Kuoronjohtajuutta tarkasteltiin asia-, (management), henkilöstö- (leadership) ja ryhmän johtajuuden kannalta, josta näkökulmasta ei ole aikaisemmin tehty tutkimusta. Työssäni kuoronjohtajana olen havainnut johtamisen taitojen tarpeellisuuden, vaikkakaan kuoronjohdon koulutuksessa ei opeteta johtajuusasioita. Tutkimus on luonteeltaan laadullinen ja se toteutettiin viidelle kuoronjohtajalle suunnatun teemahaastattelun avulla. Aineistoa analysoitiin teemoittain. Lasten leiriryhmän ryhmäprosessi ja sen ohjaaminen

Pro gradu -tutkimuksessamme tutkimme lasten leiriryhmien ryhmäprosesseja ja niiden eri vaiheita. Tutkimuksemme teoriapohjana toimii Tuckmanin (1965) malli, jonka mukaan ryhmäprosessi käsittää viisi eri vaihetta: ryhmän muotoutuminen, kuohunta, yhteistoiminnan syntyminen, kypsä toiminta ja ryhmän hajoaminen. Tutkimuksella tahdoimme selvittää, toteutuvatko nämä vaiheet myös lyhytkestoisissa lapsiryhmissä. Tämän lisäksi tutkimme ryhmäprosessin aikana ilmeneviä haasteita ohjaajien näkökulmasta sekä keinoja, joilla näihin haasteisiin pyritään vastaamaan. Toward a contextualized understanding of inside sales: the role of sales development in effective lead funnel management

Purpose The purpose of this study is to provide a contextualized understanding of how business-to-business (B2B) firms use the sales development function for efficient and effective lead funnel management. Design/methodology/approach The authors adopted a qualitative field-study approach and interviewed 13 people from eight firms. Our aim was to explore higher education students’ response and self-regulatory processes plus the relationship between these, as evidenced in two types of performance-based critical thinking tasks included in the Collegiate Learning Assessment (CLA+) International instrument. The data collection consisted of 20 cognitive laboratories. The data were analyzed using a qualitative approach. The tasks were found to trigger different response and self-regulatory processes. Overall, the performance task evoked more holistic processes than the selected-response questions, in which students’ processes were more question-oriented.
