Viewing CLIL through the eyes of former pupils : Insights into foreign language and intercultural attitudes

This article examines the long-term effects of CLIL on former pupils’ foreign language and intercultural attitudes. The 24 participants, who received English-medium CLIL for nine years in the 1990s, were interviewed and the data analyzed using thematic analysis. The participants generally felt that CLIL had had a very positive effect on their target language attitudes. However, many considered that CLIL had affected negatively on their attitudes towards other foreign languages. The perceptions regarding the effect of CLIL on intercultural attitudes diverged more. Lärarens val av undervisningspraktiker spelar en avgörande roll för elevers inlärningsresultat. I lärarkognitionen ingår förmågan att på adekvata sätt styra och handleda elevens inlärningsprocess och utvärdera dess utgång med livslångt lärande som huvudsyfte. I artikeln kartläggs och analyseras vilka samband som finns mellan undervisningspraktiker och elevers inlärningsresultat i svenskans långa lärokurs i slutet av den grundläggande utbildningen. Intermolecular oxidative dehydrogenative 3,3′-coupling of benzo[b]furans and benzo[b]thiophenes promoted by DDQ/H+: total synthesis of shandougenine B

With an excess of a strong acid, 2,3-dichloro-5,6-dicyano-1,4-quinone (DDQ) is shown to promote metal-free intermolecular oxidative dehydrogenative (ODH) 3,3'-coupling of 2-aryl-benzo[b]furans and 2-aryl-benzo[b]thiophenes up to 92% yield as demonstrated with 9 substrates. Based on the analysis of oxidation potentials and molecular orbitals combined with EPR, NMR and UV-Vis observations, the studied reaction is initiated by a DDQ-substrate charge transfer complex and presumably proceeds via oxidation of the substrate into an electrophilic radical cation that further reacts with another molecule of a neutral substrate. Tutkielmassa selvitetään, miten Pyhäjärven kunnassa sijainneesta Kuusenmäen ”ylhäisemmästä” kansakoulusta muotoutui uuden oppivelvollisuuslain 1921 mukainen kansakoulu. Tutkimusajanjakso käsittää vuosien 1921 – 1939 välisen ajan, koska tänä aikana tarvittavat sopeuttamistoimenpiteet tehtiin koulun toiminnassa. Tutkielmassa käytetään mikrohistoriallista tarkastelutapaa. Tutkimusaineiston intensiivisellä ja tarkalla analysoinnilla saadaan informaatiota ilmiöstä, jota tarkastellaan. Tilastotietoja analysoitaessa käytetään kvantitatiivista menetelmää. Kolmantena menetelmänä tutkimuksessa käytetään vertailua.
