Ecklonia maxima and the commercial biostimulants produced from it contain various plant growth regulators that are responsible for the growth stimulation recorded in many crops. Auxins are one of the major plant growth regulators contained in E. maxima extracts. Background: Children’s first years of life are crucial to their future health. Studies show that a varied diet with a high intake of vegetables is positive in several domains of health. The present low vegetable intake amongst children is, therefore, a concern. Food neophobia is a common barrier to vegetable intake in children. As most Norwegian children attend kindergarten from an early age, kindergartens could contribute to the prevention of food neophobia and the promotion of vegetable intake. In this review, the technique of soil-less cultivation of horticultural crops is analysed, the main differences between this and traditional cultivation techniques are described, and the advantages and disadvantages of each method in relation to the others are identified. Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää Keski-Suomen alueella toteutettuun ryhmäohjaukseen osallistuneiden ryhmäläisten kasvisten syömistä 12 kuukauden aikana. Tavoitteena oli tutkia tuoreiden kasvisten, kypsennettyjen kasvisten sekä hedelmien ja marjojen käyttöä ja niiden syönnissä tapahtunutta muutosta. Lisäksi selvitettiin, miten sukupuoli, paino, painoindeksi, vyötärönympärys ja elämäntilanne ovat yhteydessä kasvisten syömiseen sekä miten yksilön aikomus muuttaa ruokakäyttäytymistä vaikuttaa itse muutoksen tekemiseen. Reliable Outer Bounds for the Dual Simplex Algorithm with Interval Right-hand Side

International audience; In this article, we describe the reliable computation of outer bounds for linear programming problems occuring in linear relaxations derived from the Bernstein polynomials. The computation uses interval arithmetic for the Gauss-Jordan pivot steps on a simplex tableau. The resulting errors are stored as interval right hand sides. Additionally, we show how to generate a start basis for the linear programs of this type. We give details of the implementation using OpenMP and comment on numerical experiments.
Project-Based Education Research Course Supports Exchange-students’ Research Minded Teacher Identity

Project-based education (PBE) gives possibilities for students to work together and feeling of belonging in a community even during distance learning. At the Department of Chemistry, University of Jyväskylä (JYU), a group of exchange students participated in a PBE chemistry teacher education research course online. The goal of the course was to enforce the connection between research on science teaching and acting sustainable in society. This study is based on semi-structured online group interview of the students after this PBE course. The main focus of this investigation was how positive feelings and attitude affect learning. peerReviewed
