Fresh-Cut Mangoes: How to Increase Shelf Life by Using Neem Oil Edible Coating

The mango is the most widely cultivated tropical fruit. Fresh-cut mango is very useful, but it is very perishable. The purpose of this study was to highlight the effects of neem oil on fresh-cut mango fruits kept for 9 days at 4 ± 1 °C and 80 ± 5% relative humidity. The neem plant (Azadirachta indica) has numerous antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Despite this, very few studies have been carried out on neem oil added to edible coatings (EC) to retard ripening processes. Physico-chemical characterisation of a non-conventional food protein source from earthworms and sensory impact in arepas

International audience; This study aimed to characterise a non-conventional protein source: a powder made from earthworms, and to evaluate its potential use as human food. The way it was prepared led to low solubility and wide particle size distribution. Sensory analysis was used to assess the acceptability and the organoleptic properties of maize-based pan-cakes fortified with this novel protein powder. Satisfying products were obtained with a substitution level of 5.5% (w/w) earthworm powder in pan-cakes. Debido a la discriminación por edad, las personas jubiladas suelen ser vistas como un grupo homogéneo y, por lo tanto, son todos tratados de la misma manera por la sociedad. Nuestro objetivo es identificar diferentes perfiles en una muestra de jubilados españoles según diferentes variables. Un total de 991 jubilados españoles fueron evaluados tanto en términos de variables continuas como presiones organizacionales, problemas de salud, interés por la jubilación, niveles de estrés laboral, apoyo social y resiliencia, y variables categóricas o socio-demográficas. It has already been suggested that beta-3 adrenergic (ADRB3) agonists might be of interest in the pharmacological management of preterm labor.
