La sexualidad de las personas con discapacidad intelectual (DI) ha sido un tema muy controvertido. Su sexualidad ha estado sustentada por una serie de mitos y falsas creencias que, a pesar de carecer de apoyo empírico, han restringido su derecho a conseguir una expresión libre de esta faceta. En unos casos su sexualidad ha sido equiparada a la de los niños, creyendo que eran personas asexuadas; y en otros se les ha presupuesto una ausencia de control sobre sus impulsos, optando por no despertar sus instintos sexuales. Para promover un desarrollo sexual saludable es necesario garantizar el acceso de las personas con discapacidad intelectual (PDI) a la formación en relación con sexualidad y las relaciones interpersonales. En este sentido, se precisan programas de educación afectivo sexual para PDI que presenten evidencias empíricas sólidas acerca de su validez. The selection pressure which has led to different dominant sterols in the three eukaryotic kingdoms remains unknown. Here we investigated the influence of the progression in the different steps of the ergosterol biosynthetic pathway (EBP) on the yeast resistance to transitions from aqueous to aerial media, typical perturbations of the higher fungi habitats. Determination of platinum and iridium in reforming catalysts by second derivative and absorptiometric spectrophotometry

Investigations on the spectrophotometric determination of platinum as a complex formed by tin(II)chloride in hydrochloric acid are reported. The determination of platinum was found to be interfered with by iridium, because it also forms a complex with tin(II) chloride. The features of the derivative absorption spectrophotometry for the quantitative determination of platinum and iridium was also studied. The analytical application of the method for the determination of platinum and iridium in catalysts was investigated.

Abstract The system ergonovine maleate-p-diethylaminobenzaldehyde in sulfuric acid media is applied to the kinetic-spectrophotometric determination of nitrite ions with competitive precision. The reaction rate is strongly enhanced by the presence of nitrite or ferric ions, being the nitrite in the “promoting” role of the reaction. Linear calibration plots are obtained for nitrite concentration ranges 0.3–2.4 ppm or 0.66–6 ppb. The influence of foreign compounds is also established.

Synthesis, computational evaluation and pharmacological assessment of acetylsalicylic esters as anti-inflammatory agents

A convenient approach to the synthesis of alkyl esters of aspirin (ASA-OR) has been developed. The synthesis of ASA-OR has been realized in two steps: (1) direct esterification of salicylic acid with alcohols in the presence of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide to give alkyl salicylates (SAL-OR); (2) acetylation of SAL-OR with acetyl chloride to yield ASA-OR. Molecular mechanics simulations, performed to calculate the kinetic radii of several ASA-OR, indicated that the pentyl and hexyl acetylsalicylates possess the best properties to cross cell membranes.
