Managing adult patients with infectious diseases in emergency departments: international ID-IRI study.

2021

We aimed to explore factors for optimizing antimicrobial treatment in emergency departments. A single-day point prevalence survey was conducted on January 18, 2020, in 53 referral/tertiary hospitals in 22 countries. 1957 (17%) of 11557 patients presenting to EDs had infections. The mean qSOFA score was 0.37 +/- 0.74. Sepsis (qSOFA >= 2) was recorded in 218 (11.1%) patients. The mean qSOFA score was significantly higher in low-middle (1.48 +/- 0.963) compared to upper-middle (0.17 +/- 0.482) and high-income (0.36 +/- 0.714) countries ( P < 0.001). Eight (3.7%) patients with sepsis were treated as outpatients. The most common diagnoses were upper-respiratory (n = 877, 43.3%), lower-respirator…

Development of Artificial Intelligence Methods for Clinical Genomics

2022

Jyväskylän yliopiston tietotekniikan opiskelijoiden osaamisen ja toimialan tarpeiden kohtaaminen Keski-Suomessa

2012

Specifications and validation of the ACMG/AMP criteria for clinical interpretation of sequence variants in collagen genes associated with joint hyper…

2023

Deleterious variants in collagen genes are the most common cause of hereditary connective tissue disorders (HCTD). Adaptations of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics/Association for Molecular Pathology (ACMG/AMP) criteria are still lacking. A multidisciplinary team was set up for developing specifications of the ACMG/AMP criteria for COL1A1, COL1A2, COL2A1, COL3A1, COL5A1, COL5A2, COL11A1, COL11A2 and COL12A1, associated with various forms of HCTD featuring joint hypermobility, which is becoming one of the most common reasons of referral for molecular testing in this field. Such specifications were validated against 209 variants, and resulted effective for classifying as p…

Are remote sensing evapotranspiration models reliable across South American ecoregions?

2021

Many remote sensing-based evapotranspiration (RSBET) algorithms have been proposed in the past decades and evaluated using flux tower data, mainly over North America and Europe. Model evaluation across South America has been done locally or using only a single algorithm at a time. Here, we provide the first evaluation of multiple RSBET models, at a daily scale, across a wide variety of biomes, climate zones, and land uses in South America. We used meteorological data from 25 flux towers to force four RSBET models: Priestley–Taylor Jet Propulsion Laboratory (PT-JPL), Global Land Evaporation Amsterdam Model (GLEAM), Penman–Monteith Mu model (PM-MOD), and Penman–Monteith Nagler model (PME-VI).…

Combinatorial Transforms : Application in Lossless Image Compression

2011

International audience; Common image compression standards are usually based on frequency transform such as Discrete Cosine Transform. We present a different approach for lossless image compression, which is based on a combinatorial transform. The main transform is Burrows Wheeler Transform (BWT) which tends to reorder symbols according to their following context. It becomes one of promising compression approach based on context modeling. BWT was initially applied for text compression software such as BZIP2 nevertheless it has been recently applied to the image compression field. Compression schemes based on the Burrows Wheeler Transform have been usually lossless; therefore we implement th…

Machine Learning Techniques for Intrusion Detection: A Comparative Analysis

2016

International audience; With the growth of internet world has transformed into a global market with all monetary and business exercises being carried online. Being the most imperative resource of the developing scene, it is the vulnerable object and hence needs to be secured from the users with dangerous personality set. Since the Internet does not have focal surveillance component, assailants once in a while, utilizing varied and advancing hacking topologies discover a path to bypass framework " s security and one such collection of assaults is Intrusion. An intrusion is a movement of breaking into the framework by compromising the security arrangements of the framework set up. The techniq…
