Nasopalatine duct cyst: report of 22 cases and review of the literature

Objectives: Nasopalatine duct cysts (NPDCs) are the most common developmental, epithelial and non-odontogenic cysts of the maxillae. The present study describes the clinicopathological characteristics of 22 NPDCs and discusses their etiology, incidence, treatment and prognosis, with a review of the literature on the subject. A comparative analysis to study editing of small noncoding BC200- and Alu transcripts in brain of prion-inoculated rhesus monkeys (M. Mulatta).

Small retroelements (short interspersed elements, abbreviated SINEs) are abundant in vertebrate genomes. Using RNA isolated from rhesus monkey cerebellum and buffy coat, reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT PCR) was applied to clone cDNA of BC200 and Alu RNAs. Transcripts containing Alu-SINE sequences may be subjected to extensive RNA editing by ADAR (adenosine deaminases that act on RNA) deamination. Abundance of Alu transcripts was determined with real-time RT PCR and was significantly higher than BC200 (brain cytoplasmic) in cerebellum. BC200 transcripts were absent from buffy coat cells. Projektos balstīta mācīšanās dabaszinību stundās 5.klasē. Kristīne Freimane, darba vadītāja Dr. ģeogr., docente Gunta Kalvāne. Bakalaura darbs, 51 lpp., 16 literatūras avoti, 9 pielikumi, 16 attēli, 9 tabulas. Latviešu valodā. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt projektos balstītas mācīšanās (PBL) izmantošanas iespējas skolēna motivācijas veicināšanā. Ir veikta literatūras analīze par projektos balstītu mācīšanos, tās salīdzinājumu ar projekta metodi, dabaszinātņu apguves rādītājiem Eiropā, mācīšanās motivāciju. Pētījumā ir izmantoti teorētiskie soļi PBL aktivitātes izveidošanai un aprobēšanai. Tika noskaidrots, ka, izmantojot PBL, skolēni ir motivēti strādāt, jo var parādīt savas stiprās puses.

Monitoring dam displacements using different techniques allows an evaluation of their structural behaviour over time. In this study, dam displacements (for the Castello dam, Agrigento, Italy) have been investigated using different Interferometric Synthetic Aperture Radar (InSAR) techniques exploiting a freely available dataset from the EU Copernicus Sentinel-1 SAR built by the European Space Agency (ESA). Sadarbība starp Ķīnu un Dāniju biznesa jomā ir problemātiska, sakarā ar darba ētikas un kultūras atšķirībām. Bakalaura darba ietvaros tiek analizētas darba ētikas un kultūras atšķirības Dānijā un Ķīnā, kā cēlonis problēmu esamībai starpvalstu darba vidē. Darbā izmantota monogrāfiskā, empīriskā un salīdzināšanas metodes. Bakalaura darba mērķis – izpētīt darba kultūras un ētikas atšķirības Ķīnā un Dānijā un to tiešo ietekmi uz sadarbības problēmām. Pēc speciālās literatūras un interviju, aptauju iegūto rezultātu analīzes ir atklāts, ka darba kultūras un ētikas atšķirības Dānijā un Ķīnā ir cēlonis daļai sadarbības problēmu. Machine learning in remote sensing data processing

Remote sensing data processing deals with real-life applications with great societal values. For instance urban monitoring, fire detection or flood prediction from remotely sensed multispectral or radar images have a great impact on economical and environmental issues. To treat efficiently the acquired data and provide accurate products, remote sensing has evolved into a multidisciplinary field, where machine learning and signal processing algorithms play an important role nowadays. This paper serves as a survey of methods and applications, and reviews the latest methodological advances in machine learning for remote sensing data analysis.
Electromagnetic and ultrasonic investigations on a Roman marble slab

The archaeological museum of Rome asked our group about the physical consistency of a marble slab (second to third century AD) that recently fell during its travel as part of an exhibition. We decided to use different methodologies to investigate the slab: namely a pacometer (Protovale Elcometer) to individuate the internal coupling pins, and ground-penetrating radar (GPR) (2000 MHz) and ultrasonic (55 kHz) tomographic high-density surveys to investigate the internal extension of all the visible fractures and to search for the hidden ones. Galvenā uzmanība ir pievērsta sadarbojošos autonomu iekārtu darbības modelēšanai un testēšanai. Ir konstatēts, kā iekārtu sadarbības testēšanai visefektīvāk visus procesus attēlot kā paplašinātos galīgos automātus un izveidot sasniedzamības koku, kas satur visus iespējamos sadarbības stāvokļus. Darbā piedāvāts procesu sadarbības testēšanai izmantot pilnīgas testpiemēru kopas, ar kurām var pārklāt visus iespējamos sadarbības modeļa stāvokļus.
