Validation of the Spanish version of multidimensional inventory of perfectionism in young footballers

ABSTRACT The Multidimensional Inventory of Perfectionism in Sport (MIPS) is one sport specific measure of perfectionism developed on the basis of a combination of different multidimensional models. This study assesses the psychometrics of the MIPS in a Spanish sample of young footballers. Participants were 429 Spanish football players with ages ranging from 9 to 13 years. Confirmatory factor analyses showed that a two-dimensional model obtained adequate fit indices and Cronbach's alpha coefficients showed acceptable levels of internal reliability. In this work we describe an instrument based on the use of a factor analysis technique in order to measure the quality of education within a Postgraduate degree offered by a public Spanish university. We showed that the instrument has satisfactory psychometric properties (reliability and validity). Regarding the factorial solution, three main dimensions have been determined, namely: importance given to the subject; educational resources and knowledge of the subject (previous and posterior). In Aranguren’s work the religious dimension is crucial, when he deals with it from the point of view of the “religious studies” and also when he deals with it from the ethical perspective. In the second case Aranguren speaks about an “ethics open to religion”. The article tries to show that in the second case there is an evolution in Aranguren’s thought with two stages. In the first one, religion appears as the satisfaction of human aspirations, rooted in an ethics which is grounded in metaphysics. ABSTRACT This paper analyzes the impact of innovative education tools-in this case, based on experimental methodology-on the acquisition of theoretical knowledge among management students. The study incorporates a clear split-sample design using two equivalent, randomly created groups. One group participates in a classroom experiment designed to illustrate the concept of the Phillips Curve, while the other participated in a traditional non-experimental lesson.
