Positron Emission Tomography Imaging of Neurotensin Receptor-Positive Tumors with 68 Ga-Labeled Antagonists: The Chelate Makes the Difference Again
2021
Neurotensin receptor 1 (NTS1) is involved in the development and progression of numerous cancers, which makes it an interesting target for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic agents. A small molecule NTS1 antagonist, named [177Lu]Lu-IPN01087, is currently evaluated in phase I/II clinical trials for the targeted therapy of neurotensin receptor-positive cancers. In this study, we synthesized seven compounds based on the structure of NTS1 antagonists, bearing different chelating agents, and radiolabeled them with gallium-68 for PET imaging. These compounds were evaluated in vitro and in vivo in mice bearing a HT-29 xenograft. The compound [68Ga]Ga-bisNODAGA-16 showed a promising biod…
New Mediterranean Biodiversity Records (November 2020)
2019
This article includes 23 new records of alien and cryptogenic species in the Mediterranean Sea, belonging to 4 Phyla (Chordata, Echinodermata, Arthropoda and Mollusca), distributed from the Alboran to the Levantine Sea. Records are reported from eight countries listed from West to East as follows: Algeria : new records of the Atlantic blue crab Callinectes sapidus ; Spain : further spread and establishment of the sea slug Lamprohaminoea ovalis in continental shores; Tunisia : first record of the Atlantic Blue Crab Callinectes sapidus in the Gulf of Gabes; Italy : a new occurrence of the pufferfish Lagocephalus sceleratus in Northern Ionian waters; first record of Cephalopholis taeniops in t…
Revision of the taxonomic status of Synthesium elongatum (Ozaki, 1935) (Brachycladiidae), an intestinal digenean of narrow-ridged …
2019
Synthesium elongatum (Brachycladiidae) is an intestinal digenean described from the finless porpoise (Neophocaena asiaeorientalis) in Japan. Few records of this species exist and there is a remarkable morphological similarity between S. elongatum and S. tursionis, such that a synonymy between the species has been suggested previously. However, no morphological and/or molecular analysis has been carried out to clarify the taxonomic status of S. elongatum. In this study, we collected specimens of Synthesium sp. from N. asiaeorientalis in western Japan. The specimens possess lobed testes within the third quarter of the body, a round ovary, and vitellaria extending to level of uterine field, wh…
Experimental virus evolution in cancer cell monolayers, spheroids, and tissue explants
2021
Viral laboratory evolution has been used for different applications, such as modeling viral emergence, drug-resistance prediction, and therapeutic virus optimization. However, these studies have been mainly performed in cell monolayers, a highly simplified environment, raising concerns about their applicability and relevance. To address this, we compared the evolution of a model virus in monolayers, spheroids, and tissue explants. We performed this analysis in the context of cancer virotherapy by performing serial transfers of an oncolytic vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV-Δ51) in 4T1 mouse mammary tumor cells. We found that VSV-Δ51 gained fitness in each of these three culture systems, and t…
Immunohistopathology in Diagnostic Neuropathology
1983
Within the field of surgical pathology, immunohistochemistry is now frequently applied to the morphological diagnosis of lymphomas (11), certain carcinomas and other selected types of tumor (12). In neuropathology, the study of neuro-oncological and non-neoplastic diseases may also receive diagnostic support from performing immunohistological techniques, which encompass immunofluorescent and immunoperoxidase methods. The following report represents a survey of our experience in this recently developed field of diagnostic neuropathology.
Interactions between volatiles and lipids in complex systems
1998
Partition equilibria of three aroma compounds in three different biphasic systems were studied by a liquid/liquid partition technique to investigate interactions that occur between volatiles and lipids in biphasic solutions. The lipids used were linoleic acid and ricinoleic acid and tetradecane as a model. The three aroma compounds were ethyl acetate, 2,5-dimethylpyrazine, and oct-1-en-3-ol. The results showed that the intermolecular forces involved were weak. Infrared spectroscopy was then performed on binary systems (tetradecane and linoleic acid or aroma compound) and on ternary systems (tetradecane, linoleic acid, and aroma compound) to determine the nature of the interactions. This met…

Prior studies demonstrate that adenosine, acting at one or more of its receptors, mediates the anti-inflammatory effects of methotrexate in animal models of both acute and chronic inflammation. Both adenosine A2A and A3 receptors contribute to the anti-inflammatory effects of methotrexate treatment in the air pouch model of inflammation, and the regulation of inflammation by these two receptors differs at the cellular level. Because different factors may regulate inflammation at different sites we examined the effect of low-dose weekly methotrexate treatment (0.75 mg/kg/week) in a model of acute peritoneal inflammation in adenosine A2A receptor knockout mice and A3 receptor knockout mice an…
How the country-of-origin impacts wine traders’ mental representation about wines: A study in a world wine trade fair
2020
Using data collected at a world wine trade fair, we study how the country-of-origin impacts wine traders’ mental representation about wines. In the analysis we use traditional exporters in Old (France) and New (Argentina) world wine countries in comparison to non-traditional exporters in Old (Switzerland) and New (Brazil) world wine countries. Three main findings are reported. First, the country-of-origin of wines was more important on guiding participants’ representations, than the category of countries the traders came from. Second, participants’ evocations were more precise and specific for traditional wine-exporting countries than for less traditional wine exporting countries. Finally, …
