Surveillance for adverse events following immunization (AEFI) for 7 years using a computerised vaccination system

2016

Objectives: The surveillance of vaccine safety is an essential requirement in vaccination programmes. Computerized immunization registries such as the Vaccination Information System (SIV) of Valencian Community (Spain) offer the opportunity to estimate the incidence of adverse events according to individual information. The aim of the study was to analyze adverse events following immunization reported through SIV from 2005 to 2011 by age, sex, type of vaccine and dose, and adverse event, and highlight the advantages of this type of reporting. Study design: A retrospective cohort study of subjects vaccinated in the Valencian Community using population health databases was carried out. Method…

The historiographical, papyrus and epigraphic sources relating to the long career of the praefectus Aegypti Subaziano Aquila, in office starting from 206 AD, are analysed, and it is hypothesized that the end of his career is to be placed in relation to the conflict between Caracalla and Geta which arose in moment of succession to Septimius Severus.

Ruolo dei parassitoidi oofagi nel controllo naturale dei fitofagi del nocciolo responsabili del “cimiciato delle nocciole” nel Parco dei Nebrodi (ME).

2009

Role of oophagous parasitoids in the natural control of hazelnut bugs inducing the “cimiciato seeds” in Nebrodi Park (ME) Oophagous parasitoids of bugs collected on hazelnut cultivations and seasonal parasitism on eggs of Gonocerus acutengulatus (Goeze) were studied from 2004 to 2006 in the Nebrodi Park (ME). Samples of bug eggs were collected in three altitude areas, 300-590, 600-890 and 900-1100 m above sea level, and examined in laboratory. Parasitoid adults obtained from all eggs were identified. Parasitization levels, detected on G. acuteangulatus in all areas showed a similar trend with the most value on August. Significant regression between the total number of eggs and the number of…

Physiological properties of some yeast strains

2006

Twenty yeast strains have recently been isolated in pure cultures from natural and industrial sources and identified based mainly on physiological properties. The majority of the strains (15) are alcohologenic belonging to the genus Saccharomyces and comprise two brewer's (beer) yeast strains (S. carlsbergensis= S. uvarum A and B), two baker's yeast strains (S. cerevisiae CA and CP), one spirit yeast strain (S. cerevisiae CF) and ten wine yeast strains (S. cerevisiae var. ellipsoideus = S. ellipsoideus 1, 3, 4, 6, 8 and 9; S. oviformis 2, 5 and 7; and S. uvarum 10). The other 5 yeast strains belong to different species: Kloeckera apiculate, Candida mycoderma (Mycoderma vini), Pichia membran…

Activity against microorganisms affecting cellulosic objects of volatile constituents of Leonotis nepetaefolia from Nicaragua

2014

The chemical composition of the essential oil from aerial parts of L. nepetaefolia (L.) R. Br. collected in Nicaragua was evaluated by GC and GC-MS. The main components were (Z)-phytol (22.8%), caryophyllene oxide (18.9%) and hexahydrofarnesylacetone (9.0%). The antibacterial activity against several Gram + and Gram-bacteria, including Bacillus cereus and B. subtilis, both infesting historical cellulosic material, was also determined. B. cereus, B. subtilis and Staphylococcus epidermis were the most affected by the action of the oil.

Ethane-Bridged Zinc-Porphyrin Dimers in Langmuir-Shäfer Thin Films: Structural and Spectroscopic Properties

2006

This work reports on the structural and spectroscopic properties of ethane-bridged Zn porphyrin dimers (1) in Langmuir-Scha¨fer (LS) thin films by combining scanning force microscopy (SFM) with film balance, UV-vis absorption, fluorescence, and nanosecond laser flash photolysis measurements. Results show that depending on the surface pressure the Langmuir films of pure 1 can be arranged in two different condensed phases, whereas SFM of the LS films shows characteristic fractal networks constituted by nanoscopic aggregates. The spectral findings agree with a picture in which 1 is apparently present in the anti conformation but aggregated in a sort of H-type structure whose optical features r…

Ultra-thin film sensors based on porphyrin-5-ylphosphonate diesters for selective and sensitive dual-channel optical detection of mercury(II) ions

2020

International audience; Reusable dual-channel optical sensors for Hg2+ ions were prepared by Langmuir-Schaefer (LS) method from amphiphilic (trans-A2)BC-type porphyrins functionalized at meso-positions of the tetrapyrrolic macrocycle by sterically demanding diethoxyphosphoryl and mesityl groups as well as electron donating RO, RS or RNH substituents (R = n-C8H17). These three novel amphiphilic porphyrin derivatives were synthesized in good yields and their floating films at the air⎯water interface were investigated. In these monolayers, porphyrin molecules display a slipped stack-of-card orientation, but their strong π stacking is prohibited by bulky diethoxyphosphoryl and mesityl groups. T…
