Kansainvälistymisen haaste : opetusministeriö opiskelijavaihdon järjestäjänä sodanjälkeisen kauden Suomessa

Toista maailmasotaa seuranneiden vuosikymmenten aikana ihmisten liikkuvuus lisääntyi merkittävästi kietoutuen yhteen laajentuvan korkeakoulutuksen kanssa. Käsittelemme tässä artikkelissa kansainvälisiä stipendiohjelmia ja opetusministeriön roolia Suomen sodan jälkeisessä kansainvälistymisessä. Tarkemmin sanottuna tarkastelemme suomalaisen opiskelijavaihdon kehittymistä kylmän sodan kehikossa, erityisesti opetusministeriön ja ulkoministeriön näkökulmasta. Osoitamme, miten opetusministeriö nousi keskeiseksi toimijaksi tällä kulttuuridiplomatian alueella, joka Suomessa oli perinteisesti kuulunut ulkoministeriön alaisuuteen. Pro gradu -työni on toimeksiantona tehty AIESEC Jyväskylän 40-vuotishistoria. Järjestön historiaa tarkastellaan arkistolähteiden ja alumnien haastattelujen pohjalta. AIESEC perustettiin 1948 rauhanaatteen pohjalle luomaan ymmärrystä kulttuurien välille kansainvälisen harjoitteluvaihdon avulla. AIESEC Jyväskylä perustettiin 1969 osaksi Jyväskylän yliopiston taloustieteiden ainejärjestöä Pörssi ry:tä, ja sen toiminta oli suunnattu taloustieteilijöille. Toiminta koostui harjoittelupaikkojen hankinnasta paikallisiin yrityksiin, ulkomailta tulleiden harjoittelijoiden vastaanottamisesta ja kesäohjelman järjestämisestä saapuville harjoittelijoille. 1960- ja 1970-luku olivat aikakauslehtimarkkinoilla kovan kilpailun aikaa. Ilmari Turjan luotsaama Uusi Kuvalehti oli joutunut taloudellisiin vaikeuksiin sillä seurauksella, että se myytiin Uuden Suomen lehtitalolle 1960-luvun alussa. Lehtitalo päätti ratkaista omistansa Naisten Maailma –lehden menekkiin liittyvät ongelmat yhdistämällä sen hankkimansa Uuden Kuvalehden kanssa. Seurauksena vuonna 1963 syntyi kokonaan uudenlainen aikakauslehti, joka nimettiin Uudeksi Maailmaksi. Monipuolisten sisältöjen avulla se pyrki houkuttelemaan lukijoita erilaisista viiteryhmistä. Miten taide ja taidekasvatus voi edistää kansainvälisyyskasvatusta? Mikä taiteessa ja taidekasvatuksessa mahdollistaa tämän kaltaisen toiminnan? Miten kansainvälisyyskasvatus on näkynyt vuonna 1971 perustetun Hyvinkään Kansainvälisen lasten ja nuorten taidekilpailun ja –näyttelyn taustalla vaikuttaneissa tavoitteissa? Miten kansainvälinen taidekilpailu ja -näyttely on toiminut kansainvälisyyskasvattajana? Näihin kysymyksiin etsin vastauksia tässä pro-gradu-tutkielmassani. Abstract One of the most important application in bioinformatics is read mapping. With the rapidly increasing number of reads produced by next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, there is a need for fast and efficient high-throughput read mappers. In this paper, we present FMapper – a highly scalable read mapper on the TaihuLight supercomputer optimized for its fourth-generation ShenWei many-core architecture (SW26010). Psychological stress is a suggested risk factor of metabolic disorders, but molecular mediators are not well understood. We investigated the association between the metabolic profiles of fasting plasma and the improvement of psychological well-being using non-targeted liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) platform. The metabolic profiles of volunteers participating in the face-to-face intervention group (n = 60) in a randomised lifestyle intervention were compared to ones of controls (n = 64) between baseline and 36-week follow-up. Objective: Loss of sex hormones has been suggested to underlie menopause-associated increment in cardiovascular risk. We investigated associations of sex hormones with arterial stiffness in 19–58-years-old women. We also studied associations of specific hormonal stages, including natural menstrual cycle, cycle with combined oral contraceptives (COC) and menopausal status with or without hormone therapy (HT), with arterial stiffness. At the moment, there is no clear molecular explanation for the steeper decline in muscle performance after menopause or the mechanisms of counteractive treatments. The goal of this genome-wide study was to identify the genes and gene clusters through which power training (PT) comprising jumping activities or estrogen containing hormone replacement therapy (HRT) may affect skeletal muscle properties after menopause. This article focuses on religiousness and spirituality in the art works of psychiatric patients of Nikkilä Hospital, Finland. The pictures analysed here belong to a collection held at the Helsinki City Museum and they were made during the twentieth century. The theoretical frame of the study is a cultural study of mental health. The collection is approached as presenting a specific kind of imagery which has connections not only to the personal history and diagnoses of the patients; their cultural context and hospital environment is also taken into account.
