Ruthenium(II) meso-tetra-(benzo-15-crown-5)-porphyrinates: synthesis and spectroscopic investigation

2007

The synthesis of novel ruthenium(II) meso-tetra-(benzo-15-crown-5)-porphyrinates, meso-[( B 15 C 5)4 Por ] Ru ( CO )( MeOH ) (1) and meso-[( B 15 C 5)4 Por ] Ru ( L )2 (2)-(4) (meso-[( B 15 C 5)4 Por ]2-= 5,10,15,20-tetrakis-(benzo-15-crown-5)-porphyrinato-dianion; L = pyridine (py), pyrazine (pyz), 4,4′-bipyridyl (4,4′-bpy)), where CO and MeOH , or two N -donor ligands are axially coordinated to the central metal, are reported. The metalation of the free ligand performed by the reaction of Ru 3( CO )12 with meso-[( B 15 C 5)4 Por ] H 2 in 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene (TCB, bp = 215°C), gives (1) in a high yield. The synthesis of (2)-(4) involves the decarbonylation of (1) with trimethylamine N …

Electrical Behaviour of Heterobimetallic [MM′(EtCS2)4] (MM′=NiPd, NiPt, PdPt) and MM′X-Chain Polymers [PtM(EtCS2)4I] (M=Ni, Pd)

2012

Herein, we report the isolation of new heterobimetallic complexes [Ni0.6Pd1.4ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4] (1), [NiPtACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4] (2) and [Pd0.4Pt1.6ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4] (3), which were constructed by using transmetallation procedures. Subsequent oxidation with iodine furnished the MM'X monodimensional chains [Ni0.6Pt1.4ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4I] (4) and [Ni0.1Pd0.3Pt1.6ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4I] (5). The physical properties of these systems were investigated and the chain structures 4 and 5 were found to be reminiscent of the parent [Pt2ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4I] species. However, they were more sensitively dependent on the localised nature of the charge on the Ni ion, which caused spont…

<title>Cerium-containing counter electrodes for transparent electrochromic devices</title>

1997

Films of Me-Ce oxide (Me: Ti, Zr, Sn, W) and of Ni-Ce hydroxide were produced by reactive magnetron co-sputtering. Li intercalation in Me-Ce oxide, and H exchange in Ni-Ce hydroxide, were accomplished electrochemically. Electrochromism was quenched in proportion with the Ce content in Me-Ce oxide. Films of Zr-Ce (and to some extent Ti-Ce) oxide were able to serve as fully transparent counter electrodes, of much interest for transparent electrochromic devices. In Ni-Ce hydroxide, the Ce addition enhanced the capacity for charge exchange.

ChemInform Abstract: Chemical Compounds and Toxicological Assessments of Drinking Water Stored in Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Bottles: A Source …

2012

A declaration of conformity according to European regulation No. 10/2011 is required to ensure the safety of plastic materials in contact with foodstuffs. This regulation established a positive list of substances that are authorized for use in plastic materials. Some compounds are subject to restrictions and/or specifications according to their toxicological data. Despite this, the analysis of PET reveals some non-intentionally added substances (NIAS) produced by authorized initial reactants and additives. Genotoxic and estrogenic activities in PET-bottled water have been reported. Chemical mixtures in bottled water have been suggested as the source of these toxicological effects. Furthermo…

Ethyldimethylammonium oxalate

2006

The title crystal structure, C4H12N+·C2HO4−, contains discrete ethyldimethylammonium cations and oxalate monoanions. Linear chains of oxalate monoanions are formed by strong O—H⋯O hydrogen bonds. These chains are further connected by N—H⋯O and C—H⋯O hydrogen bonds through ethyldimethylammonium cations, forming channels along the a axis.

ChemInform Abstract: Cobalt Clusters with Cubane-Type Topologies Based on Trivacant Polyoxometalate Ligands.

2016

Four novel cobalt-substituted polyoxometalates having cobalt cores exhibiting cubane or dicubane topologies have been synthesized and characterized by IR, elemental analysis, electrochemistry, UV–vis spectroscopy, X-ray single-crystal analysis, and magnetic studies. The tetracobalt(II)-substituted polyoxometalate [Co4(OH)3(H2O)6(PW9O34)]4– (1) consists of a trilacunary [B-α-PW9O34]9– unit which accommodates a cubane-like {CoII4O4} core. In the heptacobalt(II,III)-containing polyoxometalates [Co7(OH)6(H2O)6(PW9O34)2]9– (2), [Co7(OH)6(H2O)4(PW9O34)2]n9n– (3), and [Co7(OH)6(H2O)6(P2W15O56)2]15– (4), dicubane-like {CoII6CoIIIO8} cores are encapsulated between two heptadentate [B-α-PW9O34]9– (in…

Diethylammonium hydrogen oxalate

2006

The structure of the title compound, C4H12N+·C2HO4−, consists of discrete oxalate monoanions and diethylammonium cations. The N atom lies on a crystallographic twofold rotation axis and the oxalate ion is centrosymmetric. The oxalate monoanions are present as hydrogen-bonded linear chains. Conformationally extended diethylammonium cations link the linear chains through three–centre N–H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

Molecular modeling of intercalation complexes of antitumor active 9-aminoacridine and a [d, e]-anellated isoquinoline derivative with base paired deo…

1996

Intercalators are molecules capable of sliding between DNA base pairs without breaking up the hydrogen bonds between the DNA bases. On the basis of molecular mechanics calculations structural, models of B-DNA tetranucleotide intercalation complexes of some cytostatic active 9-aminoacridines and of a [d, e]-anellated isoquinoline derivative are presented. The drug complexes are stabilized by energetically favouredvan der Waals interactions and by selective hydrogen bonds between the side chains of the drugs and the DNA bases. Semiempirical quantum chemistry calculations revealed that the chromophoric system of the intercalators is able to form π,π-charge-transfer interactions with the purine…
