The purpose of this review is to provide a detailed and updated description of the FinnTwin16 (FT16) study and its future directions. The Finnish Twin Cohort comprises three different cohorts: the Older Twin Cohort established in the 1970s and the FinnTwin12 and FT16 initiated in the 1990s. FT16 was initiated in 1991 to identify the genetic and environmental precursors of alcoholism, but later the scope of the project expanded to studying the determinants of various health-related behaviors and diseases in different stages of life. The geometries and energetics of different conformations of sulfur and selenium diimides E(NR) 2 (E = S, Se; R = H, Me, 'Bu, C 6 H 3 Me 2 -2,6, SiMe 3 ) have been studied by using various ab initio and DFT molecular orbital techniques. The syn,syn conformation is found to be most stable for parent E(NH) 2 , but in general, the preferred molecular conformation for substituted chalcogen diimides is syn,anti. In the case of E(NH) 2 the present calculations further confirm that syn,syn and syn,anti conformations lie energetically close to each other. The oxidative dehydrogenation of primary alcohols promoted by gold nanoparticles was investigated from an experimental and computational viewpoint to derive a plausible reaction mechanism and to understand the role of water and alcohol chain length in the elementary steps. The influence of water in reaction kinetics and product distribution was determined in a laboratory-scale microreactor adding water to the reaction mixture in different amounts. Les paysages raciaux rendent compte de la nature contradictoire des discours sur la race et le racisme en Europe, et en France, qui sont à la fois omniprésents et dissimulés.
