Lovastatin inhibits Rho-regulated expression of E-selectin by TNFalpha and attenuates tumor cell adhesion.

E-selectin mediated cell-cell adhesion plays an important role in inflammatory processes and extravasation of tumor cells. Tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha) induces E-selectin gene and protein expression in primary human endothelial cells (HUVEC) and in an endothelial cell line (EA.hy-926). As shown by ELISA and FACS analyses, HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors (e.g., lovastatin) impair the TNF-alpha stimulated increase in E-selectin protein expression. Similar results were obtained for E-selectin mRNA expression and promoter activity, indicating that the effect of lovastatin is based on inhibition of gene expression. Maģistra darba tēma ir “Taksometru pakalpojumu nozares uzņēmuma “A” saimnieciskās darbības analīze”. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt taksometru pakalpojumu nozares uzņēmuma “A” saimniecisko darbību un nozari, kurā tas darbojas, novērtēt finansiālo situāciju, izvērtēt attīstības iespējas un veikt uzņēmuma darbinieku aptauju un izstrādāt priekšlikumus uzņēmumu vadībai situācijas uzlabošanai. Maģistra darbs sastāv no 4 daļām: pirmajā - taksometru pārvadājumu nozares analīze; otrajā – uzņēmuma saimnieciskās darbības analīze; trešajā - finansiāla stāvokļa novērtējums, ceturtajā - bankrota iespējamības izvērtēšana. his study examined the relationship between trait emotional intelligence (EI) and variation in psychological (positive affect: PA, negative affect: NA) and psychophysiological (salivary alpha-amylase: sAA) indicators among Japanese employees over 3 consecutive days (working day 1, non-working day, working day 2). The analyses revealed that higher trait EI was associated across the days with higher PA, but not with NA. The purpose of this study has been to identify and analyse obstacles embedded in the school organisation that impede organisational development and improvement. The general findings show that the school structure comprised sub-groups and had characteristics of a diversified organisation. This led to dysfunctional discussions that challenged school development and improvement. Ancient architecture in Provence between the Iron Age and the Imperial era: the pillars of the Château-Bas site in Vernègues

The site of Château-Bas (Vernègues, Bouches-du-Rhône), famous above all for its Augustan Roman temple, has yielded a set of pillars decorated either with writhing snakes or with straight rods. As yet there are no known parallels to such pillars. The discovery of a fragment of a pillar reused in a 1st c. AD structure demonstrates that these carvings are ancient. The architectural study of the fragments and comparison with other sculptural elements from southern Gaul suggest they date approximately to the turn of the millenium. Dinamisku risinājumu ieviešana telekomunikāciju pašapkalpošanās sistēmas uzlabošanā

Darbā skaidrots, kā tika pētīta un analizēta esošā telekomunikāciju uzņēmuma pašapkalpošanās sistēma un kā tā tika uzlabota. Tika identificētas vairākas problēmas, kas traucēja gan uzņēmuma darbiniekiem, gan klientiem, kas ir sistēmas lietotāji. Balstoties uz šiem trūkumiem, tika izveidotas prasības jaunajai sistēmai, kura tika sadalīta divās daļās, viena daļa optimizēta privātpersonām jeb klientiem ar salīdzinoši mazu lietotāju skaitu, otra daļa veidota pēc juridisku personu klientu vēlmēm un vajadzībām. Sistēmas servera daļas projektēšanas laikā tika izplānoti un beigās arī ievesti vairāki dinamiski risinājumi, kas atvieglo informācijas sistēmas uzturētāju darbu, ieviešot sistēmā izmaiņas…
