A Series of Hadamard Designs with Large Automorphism Groups
2000
Abstract Whilst studying a certain symmetric (99, 49, 24)-design acted upon by a Frobenius group of order 21, it became clear that the design would be a member of an infinite series of symmetric (2q2 + 1, q2, (q2 − 1)/2)-designs for odd prime powers q. In this note, we present the definition of the series and give some information about the automorphism groups of its members.
Assessment of antifungal activity of extracts from nettle (Urtica dioica L.) against Alternaria solani = Ocena aktywności przeciwgrzybowej ekstraktów…
2015
(Urtica dioica L.) w stężeniach 2,5, 5,0, 10,0, 20,0, 40,0% wobec fitopatogennego szczepu Alternaria solani.

2017
Bakalaura darbā “Valtera Benjamina auras jēdziena kritika Borisa Groisa mākslas teorijā” tiek apskatīts 20. gs. filozofa Valtera Benjamina ieviestais jēdziens “mākslas darba aura” un salīdzināts ar 21. gs. filozofa Borisa Groisa auras jēdziena interpretāciju mūsdienu mākslas kontekstā. Pirmajā darba daļā tiek apskatīta auras jēdziena rašanās, tās galvenie elementi un argumenti tehniskās reproducējamības ietekmei uz auras zudumu. Otrajā daļā tiek analizēta Borisa Groisa interpetācija par šo jēdzienu un pētīti viņa argumenti apgalvojumam, ka mūsdienu mākslas instalācijām ir aura. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai Boriss Groiss pamatoti iebilst Valtera Benjamina apgalvojumam, ka mākslas darba au…

Evolving Management Ideas
2019
This chapter reviews the different conceptualizations of ‘the’ historical development of management ideas. It focuses on three approaches to the evolution of research on management ideas: (1) mainstream, (2) embedded, and (3) critical alternatives. The mainstream is the most dominant approach, both in research and in textbooks of management, while the embedded approach is increasingly popular among institutionally oriented researchers. A key suggestion is that it is also important to find and follow less researched avenues in the evolution of management ideas, such as the critical alternatives approach, drawing on forgotten and marginalized discourses. The authors explicate limitations and …

A Lost Opportunity to Parliamentarize The European Commission : Bagehot, Weber and a Debate in 1960
2022
The article emphasizes the significance of EU studies for political thought and concepts. It deals with the seemingly technical topic of the membership of cabinet ministers in parliament. This practice arose in eighteenth-century Westminster and has been discussed since the mid-nineteenth century, Walter Bagehot's and Max Weber's writings being landmarks. When the European Parliamentary Assembly in 1960 interpreted the Treaty of Rome, it took the view, by a narrow margin, that membership of the Parliament was incompatible with membership of the Commission. The debate on the compatibility of dual membership could have been a way to promote the parliamentarization of the EU. peerReviewed
