Typing of KIR genes in unrelated hematopoietic stem cell transplants: influence of the donor KIR genotype on the outcome of the transplant.
In recent years, the anti-leukemic potential of Natural Killer (NK) cells and their role in hematologic malignancies and in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplants (HSCT) has attracted greater interest and a recent study by Cooley S. et al. showed a better clinical outcome when patients with Acute Myeloid Leukemia received a transplant from unrelated Group B KIR haplotypes donors. As a consequence of these results, an algorithm called "KIR B-content score" was formulated, based on the number of centromeric and telomeric Group B KIR haplotypes gene-content motifs. The KIR B-content score defines three categories of donors: Neutral donors have none or one KIR B motifs, Better donors have two or m…
Recensione di The Players’ Advice to Hamlet: the Rhetorical Acting Method from the Renaissance to the Enlightenment
2020
The Players’ Advice to Hamlet (2020) written by David Wiles and published by Cambridge University Press (370 p.) is a volume that houses resources which have been analysed during a long period of work, and underlines methods and models of the theatrical philology.
Il teatro dell’ardore e del disincanto: l’eredità di Amleto
2023
“The play’s the thing,” says Hamlet, “wherein I’ll catch the conscience of the king”. The intent is to show the spectators to the twisted labyrinth of truth, the one however that cannot be openly declared without tragically risking your own life. The actors’ play, as it is conceived by Hamlet, becomes the tool for trap the king of Denmark, Claudius, who had killed his brother Hamlet and usurped the young princess Hamlet’s throne. It was the enchantment felt in whatching an actor play that convinced Hamlet he could have managed to get his revenge thanks to a skilled comedian who’s art is to tell the truth with the inventio! Hamlet's reception in European culture has firmly enlightened an “ha…
Klasikas iestudējumi Oļģerta Krodera režijā: teksts un tā interpretācija
2017
Promocijas darbā pētīta teksta nozīme iestudējuma koncepcijas īstenošanā, balstoties uz režisora Oļģerta Krodera iestudētajiem literatūras klasikas darbiem. O. Krodera radošā darbība analizēta hronoloģiski secīgos četros periodos, kurus lielā mērānosaka katrā periodā iestudētā V. Šekspīra traģēdija „Hamlets”. Kopumā analizēti 12 iestudējumi, fiksējot laikmeta refleksijas katra iestudējuma vēstījumā un pieņemot „Hamletu” kā atskaites punktu. Teksts pētījumā analizēts no hermeneitikas pozīcijām kā lingvistiski izteikts vēstī jums. Vienlaikus ņemts vērā jēdziena „teksts” kulturoloģiskais aspekts, kas iestudējuma vēstījuma atklāsmē par vienlīdz svarīgiem atzīst visus estētikas objektus. Pētījum…
Nanoscale x-ray absorption spectroscopy using XEOL-SNOM detection mode
2007
The first results obtained with the prototype system at the synchrotron beamline ID03 at ESRF are presented and illustrate the possibility to detect an element-specific contrast and to perform nanoscale x-ray absorption spectroscopy experiments at the Zn K and W L 3 absorption edges in mixed zinc oxide-zinc tungstate thin films.
Statistical learning and multiple linear regression model for network selection using MIH
2014
Award of Appreciation; International audience; A key requirement to provide seamless mobility and guaranteeing Quality of Service in heterogeneous environment is to select the best destination network during handover. In this paper, we propose a new schema for network selection based on Multiple Linear Regression Model (MLRM). A horough investigation, on a huge live data collected from GPRS/UMTS networks led to identify the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that play the most important role in the handover process. These KPIs are: Received Signal Code Power (RSCP), received energy per chip (Ec/No) and Available Bandwidth (ABW) of the destination network. To extract a handover model from col…
Bibliotēkas izveide pakalpojuma sniedzēja pierakstīšanās funkcionalitātes ar identitātes sniedzēja imitāciju testēšanai
2021
Kvalifikācijas darbā “Bibliotēkas izveide pakalpojuma sniedzēja pierakstīšanās funkcionalitātes ar identitātes sniedzēja imitāciju testēšanai” šī darba autors ir izveidojis testēšanas bibliotēku, ar kuras palīdzību lietotājs var uzģenerēt korektu SAML 2.0 apgalvojumu un atbildi, ko lietotājs var nosūtīt savam izvēlētajam pakalpojuma sniedzējam, lai pierakstītos pakalpojuma sniedzēja produktā. Šī bibliotēka atvieglo automatizēto lietotājsaskarņu testēšanas procesu sekojošos veidos: - Samazina lietotājsaskarņu testa soļu daudzumu (Selenium komandas), kas uzlabo testu stabilitāti; - Noņem testu atkarību no trešo pušu pakalpojumu sniedzējiem; - Atļauj dinamiski mainīt sistēmas lietotāju atribūt…
Theatrum Mundi and site in four television Shakespeare films
2019
This article explores metatheatricality and site specificity in four Shakespeare television films produced by Illuminations Media: Gregory Doran’s Macbeth (2001), Hamlet (2009) and Julius Caesar (2012), and Rupert Goold’s Macbeth (2010). Drawing on metatheatrical theory applied to the screen and recent criticism on site-specific theatre, I explore the films as self-referential and self-conscious works embedded in environments that oppose the artifice of drama to the ‘reality’ of normative television film. Shakespeare’s aesthetic metaphor, presented in self-contained theatrical worlds, does not depict autonomous fictions but is disrupted by outside ‘reality’.
Shakespeare’s Hamlet in Twentieth-century Spanish Poetry
2015
This article investigates the presence of Shakespeare’s Hamlet in the poetic production of a selection of twentieth-century Spanish poets, among them, Miguel de Unamuno, Antonio and Manuel Machado, Juan Ramon Jimenez, Federico Garcia Lorca, Leon Felipe, Vicente Aleixandre, Jose Hierro, Blas de Otero, Juan Eduardo Cirlot, Clara Janes and Maria Victoria Atencia. It will be seen how these different poets appropriate Hamlet in their own manner, focusing on dissimilar episodes, concepts and characters to elaborate on their personal reflections on life and death, love, poetry and human nature. Such varied poetic reinterpretations of Shakespeare’s tragedy illustrate not only the multiple poetic po…
Modelling a proportion response variable using generalised additive models for location scale and shape
2015
In this paper two alternative approaches are proposed to model a response variable Y measured on the interval from zero to one, including both zero and one. The first proposed model employs a flexible four parameter distribution for 0 < Y < 1, for example a logit skew exponential power distribution, inflated by including point probabilities at 0 and 1. The second proposed model is a generalised Tobit model, obtained from a flexible four parameter distribution on (-infinity;+infinity), for example the skew exponential power distribution, by censoring below 0 and above 1. The proposed models are applied to a real data set and compared with current popular models.
