Abstract: Information-theory procedures are powerful tools for multimodel inference and are now standard methods in ecology. When performing model averaging on a given set of models, the importance of a predictor variable is commonly estimated by summing the weights of models where the variable appears, the so-called sum of weights (SW). However, SWs have received little methodological attention and are frequently misinterpreted. Grazia Deledda's literary work has been introduced by the early 20th century Chinese translators mostly through indirect translations. Such process compromised sometimes the integrity of the original linguistic choices, but the selection of contributions from the Chinese periodical press included in this study shows a genuine enthusiasm toward her narrative style and the life of Deledda's Sardinian characters, portrayed as symbolic representation of the universal human psychology.

Työ käsittelee 1950-luvun rivitaloja ja aluesuunnittelua Rantaperkiön ja Petsamon alueilla Tampereella. Tavoitteena on selvittää tutkimuskohteiden suunnitteluun ja rakentamiseen keskeisesti vaikuttaneita tekijöitä. Vertaan tutkimuskohteita toisiinsa sekä tarkastelen alueita rakennuksineen suhteessa ajan vallitsevaan arkkitehtuuri- ja kaupunkisuunnittelukeskusteluun. Pētījuma mērķis bija novērtēt Engures ekoreģiona (Rīgas līča rietumu piekrastes) sedimentu kvalitāti, izmantojot sedimentu ekotoksicitātes testus. Lai noteiktu bioloģiskās atbildes reakcijas uz dažāda veida stresoriem, kā testorganismi pielietotas sānpeldes Monoporeia affinis and Pontogammarus robustoides, un izvēlēti biomarķieri (AChE, GST, GR, CAT, MT), kas noteikti gliemenēs Macoma balthica. Engures ekoreģionu varētu uzskatīt par nepiesārņotu rajonu, jo tā sedimentus raksturo salīdzinoši zemas smago metālu koncentrācijas.
