Questo lavoro contiene una rassegna dei metodi che sono usati per la previsione delle prestazioni del veicolo su strada, in dipendenza del motore installato. La prima parte mostra il calcolo delle resistenze al moto, cioè le forze che il veicolo deve vincere per avanzare sulle strade piane e in salita. Particolarmente interessante appare la parte che riguarda la resistenza aerodinamica, della quale si tratta di metodi sperimentali (galleria del vento), metodi empirici e metodi CFD. La chiesa di Santa Maria di Campogrosso ad Altavilla Milicia (Palermo), i ruderi di un monumento normanno tra abbandono, restauri e studi archeologici

The church of Santa Maria di Campogrosso, long abandoned, is now a ruin. However, this church represents an important historical and architectural witness to the presence of “basiliani” monks in eastern Sicily, much less documented than the western Sicily’s one. Moreover, the story of this monument is linked to a very important episode, the Norman conquest of Sicily with the birth of the so-called "arabo-normanna" architecture. The essay describes the history of the church between abandonment, restoration and archaeological studies until the present.

Novel VAMPIRE algorithms for quantitative analysis of the retinal vasculature

This paper summarizes three recent, novel algorithms developed within VAMPIRE, namely optic disc and macula detection, arteryvein classification, and enhancement of binary vessel masks, and their performance assessment. VAMPIRE is an international collaboration growing a suite of software tools to allow efficient quantification of morphological properties of the retinal vasculature in large collections of fundus camera images. VAMPIRE measurements are currently mostly used in biomarker research, i.e., investigating associations between the morphology of the retinal vasculature and a number of clinical and cognitive conditions.

This article reviews literature on visual rhetoric in political campaigning and synthesizes several strands of current research devoted to the rhetorical potential of communicating with visuals in online environments. It uses rhetorical concepts of identification and manoeuvring, as well as the category of topos, to discuss the implications of an abductive analysis of a coded corpus of 1976 Instagram images posted during 2019 election to the European Parliament campaign in Poland. The organization and dynamics of microtubules (MTs) and the actin cytoskeleton are critical for the correct development and functions of neurons, including intracellular traffic and signaling. In vitro ethanol exposure impairs endocytosis, exocytosis, and nucleocytoplasmic traffic in astrocytes and alters endocytosis in cultured neurons. In astrocytes, these effects relate to changes in the organization and/or function of MTs and the actin cytoskeleton. Amplicon sequencing of partial regions of the ribosomal RNA loci (rDNA) is widely used to profile microbial communities. However, the rDNA is dynamic and can exhibit substantial interspecific and intraspecific variation in copy number in prokaryotes and, especially, in microbial eukaryotes. As change in rDNA copy number is a common response to environmental change, rDNA copy number is not necessarily a property of a species. Nascita e sviluppo della ricerca empirica in campo didattico in Italia

Si ritiene che la ricerca didattica in Italia si sia riavviata intorno al 1950 per il contatto con le scuole statunitensi, per la diffusione delle opere di Dewey e per la nascita dell’Istituto Superiore di Pedagogia della congregazione salesiana. Si ricostruisce il periodo pioneristico della ricerca empirica in campo didattico con il contributo di Calonghi e Visalberghi. Si segnalano alcuni eventi significativi che, intorno alla metà degli anni Settanta, contribuirono all’affermazione della Didattica come scienza dell’insegnamento-apprendimento. Si indicano le principali linee di ricerca empirica in Didattica presenti nell’attuale panorama scientifico italiano.
