Modeling the probability distribution of peak discharge for infiltrating hillslopes

Hillslope response plays a fundamental role in the prediction of peak discharge at the basin outlet. The peak discharge for the critical duration of rainfall and its probability distribution are needed for designing urban infrastructure facilities. This study derives the probability distribution, denoted as GABS model, by coupling three models: (1) the Green-Ampt model for computing infiltration, (2) the kinematic wave model for computing discharge hydrograph from the hillslope, and (3) the intensity-duration-frequency (IDF) model for computing design rainfall intensity. Fermentācijas gāzu analīze izmantojot automātisko metāna potenciāla mērīšanas sistēmu

Darbā analizētas anaerobās fermentācijas gāzes, izmantojot automātisko metāna potenciāla mērīšanas sistēmu. Salīdzināta tehniskā un analītiskā glicerīna izmantošana par substrātu. Izmantojot automātisko metāna potenciāla mērīšanas sistēmu AMPTS II, tika reģistrēts ne tikai metāns, bet gan visu gāzu kopīgais tilpums, izņemot CO2, tādēļ veiktas papildus analīzes gāzu sastāva noteikšanai, izmantojot gāzu hromatogrāfiju – masspektrometriju. Noskaidrots, ka Enterobacter aerogenes nozīmīgi palielināja ūdeņraža saturu tehniskā glicerīna fermentācijas gāzēs. MTOR inhibitor-based combination therapies for pancreatic cancer

Background: Although the mechanistic target of rapamycin (MTOR) kinase, included in the mTORC1 and mTORC2 signalling hubs, has been demonstrated to be active in a significant fraction of patients with pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), the value of the kinase as a therapeutic target needs further clarification. Methods: We used Mtor floxed mice to analyse the function of the kinase in context of the pancreas at the genetic level.
