Background Extended-release guanfacine hydrochloride (GXR), a selective α2A-adrenergic agonist, is a nonstimulant medication for attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). This phase 3, double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomised-withdrawal study evaluated the long-term maintenance of GXR efficacy in children/adolescents with ADHD. Methods Children/adolescents (6–17 years) with ADHD received open-label GXR (1–7 mg/day). After 13 weeks, responders were randomised to GXR or placebo in the 26-week, double-blind, randomised-withdrawal phase (RWP). Poiché l'area si trova nel comune di Gela, caratterizzato da una densità abitativa tra le più alte della Sicilia, l'occasione è buona anche per riflettere sui temi centrali del rapporto uomo-ambiente, prendendo spunto dagli innumerevoli esempi offerti dalla realtà locale. Ciò è stato fatto con la speranza di suscitare interesse verso un vivere "altro", che riconosca il valore della cultura, della conoscenza, dell'interazione virtuosa, facendosi ispirare dalla bellezza sobria ed essenziale degli ecosistemi.

Lo scavo della Chiesa di Santa Maria Degli Angeli alla Gancia: indicatori archeologici della prima età islamica a Palermo

Lo scavo in occasione del restauro della chiesa di Santa Maria degli Angeli alla Gancia a Palermo ha permesso di recuperare alcune stratigrafie affidabili relative alla prima età islamica a Palermo. Lo studio della ceramica ha restituito una serie di indicatori cronologici per il IX-X secolo nonché di proporre nuove cronologie per alcune classi di materiali. Relativamente alla storia della città questo scavo ha aggiunto alcune note importanti che riguardano il porto e la cittadella e mirale la al-Halisah.

The design of new steel grades offering equivalent mechanical performances for lower thicknesses and the added value with the possibility to join two different steel grades, require development and control of joining processes. Thanks to high precision and good flexibility, the laser welding became one of the most used processes for joining of dissimilar welded blanks. Carthage's military installations of the First Punic War on Monte Pellegrino (Palermo)

The excavation in the park of Villa Belmonte (Monte Pellegrino, Palermo) has brought to light several warehouses, made with a “pseudo-frame” technique, probably with a straw roof, used for the storage of foodstuffs, given the large quantity of Punic-type amphorae found in situ, datable to around the middle of the third century BC. In addition, a section of road - about 3 m wide that proceeds in the direction of WNW- ESE, consisting of two layers of use - has been intercepted. We believe to have tracked down part of a strategic/military station used by the Carthaginian army during the crucial years of the First Punic War.
