An integrated environmental indicator for urban transportation systems: description and application

A simplified version of the ecological footprint method is proposed for assessing the environmental performances of urban transportation systems. The method, starting from the knowledge of the composition of the running vehicular fleet, is here applied to a southern Italian province. It represents a synthetic indicator of the environmental pressure exerted by the system also matching the pollutant emissions with the carrying capacity of the site. Particularly, the forested area needed to absorb the CO2 emissions of the system is compared with the total forested area of the province. Influence of oblique edge blanking on the online punching quality after stretch bending

The oblique edge punching was proposed to reduce the surrounding sag failure occurred under the large punching force during online punching after stretch bending. The finite element models under three different kinds of punches were stablished and the punching processes were simulated by using the DEFORM-3D software. In particular, we propose heuristics to maximize the mean dispersion of the selected elements in a given set. This is particularly worrying when assessing efficiency with frontier-type models, such as data envelopment analysis (DEA) models, since they are very sensitive to possible data errors. Ranking of Brain Tumour Classifiers Using a Bayesian Approach

This study presents a ranking for classifers using a Bayesian perspective. This ranking framework is able to evaluate the performance of the models to be compared when they are inferred from different sets of data. It also takes into account the performance obtained on samples not used during the training of the classifiers.
