We want to present the José Gestoso's unpublished epistolary, a rich source of information. It preserves the correspondece received by this person between 1875 and 1917. Gestoso was a researcher of Sevillian Art and History and thanks to his job had relationship with very important people in the XIX century and early XX; this is shown by his correspondence. We considerer this epistolary an important source of information and its diffusion would be useful for the investigations of Art History and Archeology. Background: Complete removal of old filling material during root canal retreatment is fundamental for predictable cleaning and shaping of canal anatomy. Most of the retreatment methods tested in earlier studies have shown inability to achieve complete removal of root canal filling. Therefore the aim of this investigation was to assess the efficacy of three different rotary nickel titanium retreatment systems and Hedstrom files in removing filling material from root canals. Dielektroforēze ir polarizējumu daļiņu manipulācija nehomogēnā elektriskā laukā. Ar šīs manipulācijas metodi ir iespējama viendimensionālu nanovadu sakārtošana uz mikroelektrodu pāriem, tāpēc var tikt pielietota nanoelektromehānisko slēdžu izveidē. Academic Success and Student Satisfaction with University Teaching

This study uses surveys to assess student academic success in relation to the teaching activity of the University staff. The main goal is to test how the student’s degree of satisfaction of with their teachers can be considered dependent on the success the student obtains in each subject. The results show that the students are more satisfied with their teaching when they have a higher rate of success, although in some optional courses, the degree of satisfaction diminishes with the higher rate of success. The course expectations, when defined by the difference between achievement and success, impact the student satisfaction with the teaching.

Phenotypic tradeoffs between egg number and egg size in three parasitic anisakid nematodes

Phenotypic tradeoffs between number and size of eggs were tested in three component populations of three marine anisakid nematodes: Anisakis simplex, Pseudoterranova decipiens and Contracaecum osculatum. Body and uterine volumes (as proxies of female size), and egg number, mean egg volume and clutch volume (as descriptors of reproductive output) were measured in 50 females of each species. Evidence of a phenotypic tradeoff was detected only in A. simplex; the first time that has been found in a parasite population. Nanovadu mehānisko īpašību izpēte un to pielietojumi nanoelektromehāniskās sistēmās

Darbā noteikti monokristālisku Sb2S3, Ge un BeO nanovadu Junga moduļi. Nanovadu šķērsgriezuma laukums noteikts robežās no 7.1⋅102 nm2 līdz 7.8⋅104 nm2, garums no 3,1 µm līdz 136 µm. Mērījumi veikti skenējošā elektronu mikroskopā. Izmantotas atšķirīgas mehānisko īpašību noteikšanas metodes – elektriskā lauka ierosināta mehāniskā rezonanse, nanovadu lieces un spiedes deformācijas – un secināts, ka iegūtie rezultāti kļūdu robežās sakrīt. Eksperimentāli noteiktās Junga moduļa vērtības – 36 ± 9 GPa, 135 ± 40 GPa un 97 ± 24 GPa attiecīgi Sb2S3, Ge un BeO nanovadiem.
