PURPOSE The α₁A-adrenoceptor (α₁A-AR) subtype was suggested to mediate contraction and trophic effects in the iris dilator muscle, and thus its pharmacological blockade may be involved in intraoperative floppy iris syndrome. Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli tutkia opettajien ja opettajaopiskelijoiden näkemyksiä kulttuurisesta moninaisuudesta. Näkemysten perustan selvittämiseksi tutkittiin tapoja, joilla osallistujat kuvaavat ilmiötä sekä kartoitettiin osallistujien käsitykseen vaikuttaneita kokemuksia. Tutkimus on lähestymistavaltaan fenomenografinen. Tutkimusaineisto kerättiin sähköisellä kyselylomakkeella mahdollisimman suuren osallistujamäärän takaamiseksi. Lopullinen osallistujajoukko koostui 14 opettajasta ja 15 opiskelijasta. Aineisto analysoitiin sisällönanalyysin keinoin luokittelemalla vastausten sisällöt teemoittain. Ensimmäisten kouluvuosien tärkeimpiä tavoitteita on peruslukutaidon ja kirjoitustaidon oppiminen. Ilman näiden taitojen hallintaa yhteiskunnassa toimiminen on haasteellista. Tutkimuksemme tarkoituksena on saada tietoa siitä, millaisia käsityksiä luokanopettajaopiskelijoilla on lukemaan opettamisesta. Tutkimuksemme aineisto koostuu Jyväskylän yliopiston opettajankoulutuslaitoksen luokanopettajaopiskelijoiden kirjoitelmista. Aineisto on kerätty syksyllä 2013 äidinkielen ja kirjallisuuden luennolla. Tutkielmassa selvitettiin luokkahuonevuorovaikutuksen laadun yhteyttä seitsemäsluokkalaisten matematiikan ja äidinkielen motivaatioon. Aineistona käytettiin Alkuportaat-seurantatutkimuksessa 7. luokalla kerättyjä oppilaiden (n = 775) motivaatiokyselyjä sekä videoituja matematiikan (n = 67) ja äidinkielen (n = 91) oppitunteja, joista arvioitiin luokkahuonevuorovaikutuksen laatua CLASS-S-menetelmällä. Motivaation arviointi kohdentui oppilaiden arvostukseen koskien oppiaineen koettua tärkeyttä, kiinnostusta ja hyödyllisyyttä.
