AbstractParents of children with autism spectrum disorder and other disabilities report high levels of distress, but systematically evaluated interventions are few. This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of a novel, manualized Acceptance and Commitment Therapy group intervention (Navigator ACT) in a sample of 94 parents of children with disabilities. Feasibility was measured by treatment completion, credibility, and satisfaction, and preliminary outcomes by using self-rating scales administered at the baseline, post-intervention, and follow-up. Animal-assisted therapy sessions have been set up in a protected unit for patients with a dementia-related syndrome. The aim is to measure the effects of animal-assisted therapy on behavioural disorders in daily life and care. The results obtained provided some interesting areas to explore and recommendations with a view to optimising the implementation of such a system.

Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvittää, mitä pariterapiaan parisuhdeväkivallan vuoksi hakeutuneet puolisot puhuvat parisuhteesta ja väkivallasta ensimmäisellä pariterapiaistunnolla. Lisäksi tutkimme, ovatko puolisoiden näkemykset parisuhteesta ja väkivallasta yhteneväiset ja onko näkemysten yhteneväisyydellä merkitystä hoitotuloksen kannalta. Aineisto koostui yhteensä viiden pariskunnan videoiduista ensimmäisestä pariterapiaistunnosta. Lisäksi neljän pariskunnan viimeinen istunto sisällytettiin tutkimukseen.
