Synthesis and degradation of poly (2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate)-graft-poly (ε-caprolactone) copolymers

Abstract Poly (e-caprolactone) macromonomers carrying a methacryloyl end groups were synthesized using different lanthanide derivatives as catalysts, and characterized by SEC and 1 H NMR. Hydrophilic–hydrophobic copolymers from macromonomers and 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate (HEMA) were obtained by solution free radical polymerization. Depending on the feed ratio of the two components, different copolymer structures were obtained. The expected graft structure of the copolymers was confirmed by 1 H NMR. Calibration of a thermoluminescent dosimeter worn over lead aprons in fluoroscopy guided procedures

Fluoroscopy guided interventional procedures provide remarkable benefits to patients. However, medical staff working near the scattered radiation field may be exposed to high cumulative equivalent doses, thus requiring shielding devices such as lead aprons and thyroid collars. In this situation, it remains an acceptable practice to derive equivalent doses to the eye lenses or other unprotected soft tissues with a dosimeter placed above these protective devices. Polycaprolactone/gelatin-based scaffolds with tailored performance: in vitro and in vivo validation

Abstract Nanofibrous scaffolds composed of polycaprolactone (PCL) and gelatin (Ge) were obtained through a hydrolytic assisted electrospinning process. The PCL-to-Ge proportion (100/0 to 20/80), as well as the dissolution time (24, 48, 72, 96, 120 h) into a 1:1 formic/acetic acid solvent before electrospinning were modified to obtain the different samples. A strong influence of these factors on the physicochemical properties of the scaffolds was observed. Higher Ge percentage reduced crystallinity, allowed a uniform morphology and increased water contact angle. Assessing the competence learning to learn: a methodological proposal

Internalizing symptoms such as depressive mood, somatic complaints and anxiety among adolescents are a major and global concern for parents, educators and professionals. Empirical research suggests that high level of self-esteem during adolescents is associated with psychological adjustment and emotional well-being. This study examines self-esteem as a potential mediator in the interplay between emotional competencies and internalizing symptoms during adolescence. Self-report data from 855 Spanish adolescents (Mage = 13.6, SD = 1.09, 52% girls) were collected in two waves, using a longitudinal design. Abstract The Ministry of Education is changing how Spanish University Entrance Examination (PAU) will be delivered in 2017. To test the construct, experimental oral interviews with potential candidates of the PAU were done. Purpose of Study: The research observed whether paired interviews favored the delivery and organization of the PAU test and if this type of delivery favors the students’ performance.
