Si dà la prima edizione di una statuetta appartenente alla "seconda donazione borbonica" confluita nel Museo di Palermo, finora considerata solo nel repertorio fogografico della scultura antica di Arndt e Bruckmann, ma con interpretazione inesatta del soggetto. Si tratta di una rara rappresentazione a tutto tondo di un atleta in atto di doppiare la meta, forse in origine appartenente all'arredo scultoreo della Villa marittima di Contrada Sora.

Il lavoro condotto ha affrontato le problematiche connesse con le fasi di acquisizione e elaborazione dei dati ottenuti da SAPR con la finalità di dimostrare il grande potenziale di questi sistemi per la fotogrammetria aerea di prossimità. Il lavoro ha previsto lo studio delle principali problematiche attraverso prove sperimentali condotte durante le fasi del rilievo del sito archeologico di Eraclea Minoa (Agrigento). Sabba da Castiglione (Milano 1480 – Faenza 1554) soggiornò a lungo nell’Oriente greco in gioventù, all’epoca della sua militanza nell’ordine dei cavalieri di S. Giovanni. Da Rodi, dove prestava il suo servizio, effettuò diversi viaggi nel Mare Egeo e visitò numerose isole, allo scopo di cercare manufatti antichi da inviare a Isabella d’Este, che lo aveva incaricato di procurarle nuovi pezzi per la sua collezione mantovana. Lo stesso Sabba ebbe modo di crearsi una propria raccolta, della quale nel presente lavoro si discutono intenti e peculiarità.

This paper gives account of two sondages which were conducted to add some concrete evidences to the hypotesis of the existence of a new Forum in the unexcavated area beyond the Decumanus of Sabratha, North to the Temple of Hercules. The chronological hiatus between the Ist and the VIth Century A.D. could confirm the hypothesis of a change in the use of the area from a block of private houses to an open public space in direct connection with the construction of the Temple of Hercules. A conspicuos alteration of the stratigraphic sequence was caused by the three burials. A cippus with a cross would have marked a christian zone of the cemetery.
