2016
The materials found in the catacomb of Villagrazia di Carini consist essentially of African Red Slip Ware, coarse ware of probable African production and oil lamps, both Tripolitan and types Atlante VIII and X. Almost all the materials have been regularly published in the reports of the excavations carried out by the Pontificia Commissione di Archeologia Sacra and the Department of Cultural Heritage of the University of Palermo, from 2000 to date: a first catalogue have been published in the Proceedings of the IX National Congress of Christian Archeology (2007), followed by updates in Rivista di Archeologia Cristiana (2009) and in a recent study by E. Materiali ceramici di importazione africana dalla catacomba di Villagrazia di Carini.
2018
The aim of this study is to survey the Roman baths integrated in the so-called Insula IV of the archaeological area of Tindari (ME) for a better understanding of the site and for its enhancement. It is a structure that represents one of the oldest and best preserved thermal buildings with retrograde path in Sicily. Taking into account the typological, structural and decorative peculiarities that characterize the site, it was necessary to operate through integrated digital survey methods (laser scanning and SFM), obtaining a 3D model which describes the building in its entirety. The thermal building was inserted in the first century AD in a residential block dating back to the Hellenistic pe…
Dioniso a Capodarso ? Ricostruzione di una statua fittile di divinità seduta in trono
2013
The analysis and reinterpretation of three coroplastic fragments found in the 1960s at the Capodarso site (in the province of Enna) allow us to attribute them to a single artefact and, in particular, to a life-size statue seated on a throne, probably a cult statue.

Riflessioni conclusive

The rural sanctuary in the San Cataldo district, between the territories of Terrasini and Partinico, is mentioned by the written sources since the XII century, but the surviving architectural structures date back to the 16th century. The site, abandoned since the 1950s and now restored by the Soprintendenza ai Beni Culturali of Palermo who carried out archaeological excavations in this area in 2000 and 2014, over the centuries has been an important aggregation pole in order to the cultural and religious identity of the rural communities in northwestern Sicily, in relation to the fertile hinterland through the Roma viability (via consolare Valeria) .

Himera: pratiche cultuali nell’abitato
2014
The excavations of the University of Palermo in ancient Himera (northern Sicily) discovered a relatively large part of the ancient Greek town, which was organized according to a regular grid-plan dated to the first half of 6th century BC (as the latest stratigraphic trials have shown), while in the second quarter of the 5th century and later, till the destruction of the city in 409, several modifications altered the house-blocks and their inner organization. The paper treats the evidences for domestic cultic activities in this latter phase of the settlement, and at the same time examines some contexts that are “intermediate” between the “oikic” and the communal spheres. Albeit the evidence …
