Due to their intrinsic value, ancient silver objects have often arrived at museums throughout the world with provenance other than that of regular excavations, and therefore much data regarding the context and the production process in the workshops of origin, as well as the circulation of such objects, is missing. La Valle dei Templi di Agrigento, sito UNESCO e Patrimonio dell’Umanità, non è riuscita finora a spingere in maniera significativa lo sviluppo locale. Questo obiettivo potrebbe essere raggiunto attraverso l’attuazione del Piano del Parco, che propone un processo capillare di valorizzazione multifunzionale del territorio attraverso la partecipazione e la crescita culturale della comunità.

Il saggio presenta i risultati di un lavoro di ricerca condotto sulle emergenze tecnologiche della città di Palermo che si caratterizzano come elementi del paesaggio urbano. In particolare i sistemi di trasporto dell'acqua e dell'energia del gas per l'illuminazione delle strade hanno contribuito a definire l'immagine del paesaggio urbano costruendo un sistema di relazioni che anche dopo la demolizione di alcuni di questi baluardi hanno mantenuto una riconoscibilità. La trattazione contribuisce a delineare il tema comune a tutti i saggi che caratterizzano la pubblicazione della comunicazione del paesaggio attraverso diversi sistemi di trasmissione delle informazioni.
