The effectiveness of multimedia programmes in children's vocabulary learning

The present experiment investigated the effect of three different presentation modes in children's vocabulary learning with a self-guided multimedia programmes. Participants were 135 third and fourth grade children who read a short English language story presented by a computer programme. For 12 key (previously unknown) words in the story, children received verbal annotations (written translation), visual annotations (picture representing the word), or both. Recall of word translations was better for children who only received verbal annotations than for children who received simultaneously visual and verbal annotations or visual annotations only. Pharmaceutical nanosuspensions are formed when drug crystals are suspended in aqueous media in the presence of stabilizers. This technology offers a convenient way to enhance the dissolution of poorly water-soluble drug compounds. In some recent papers several authors used electronic circuits to construct loss and gain systems. This is particularly interesting in the context of PT-quantum mechanics, where this kind of effects appears quite naturally. The electronic circuits used so far are simple, but not so much. Surprisingly enough, a rather trivial RLC circuit can be analyzed with the same perspective and it produces a variety of unexpected results, both from a mathematical and on a physical side. The RAMON module: architecture framework and performance results

A design study of a Re-configurable Access Module for Mobile Computing Applications is described. After a presentation of its cross-layered architecture, Control Parameters (CPs) of the module are introduced. The set of CPs both describes the functional state of the communication process in relation to the time-varying transport facilities and provides, as input of suitable Algorithms, the control information to re-configure the whole protocol stack for facing modified working conditions. The paper also presents the structure of the simulator realized to demonstrate the feasibility of the design guidelines and to evaluate reconfigurability performances.
