Anthropology of Conservation in Spain. Review and perspectives
2016
Model research on the influence of green roofs on environmental parameters in urban agglomerations
2018
The intensive development of urban agglomerations in Poland and other European countries has rendered the growth of biologically active areas more important with respect the quality of the urban environment. Taking the rapidly rising prices of plots in city centers into consideration, it is worth noting the vast surfaces of building roofs that can be used as biologically active areas. The term green roof is to be understood as an open, overgrown surface on a multilayer roof of a building. Green roofs can only be made on a planar surface with an inclination of 2% to 30%. In accordance with the type of usage, construction factors and maintenance requirements, green roofs are typically defined…
The Influence of an Environment on the Content of Macro- and Microelements in the Tanacetum vulgare
2019
Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare L.) grows in moderate area of the northern hemisphere, in Poland – its range covers the whole country. It appears on the farm wastelands, by roadsides, on enbankments, river banks, forest lips and in open spaces. The present paper has faced the challenge of defining the influence of the environmental conditions on the mineral composition of Tanacetum vulgare leaves. The plants were picked in the blooming period from May to September 2017 in 12 natural environments of their growth and at different contamination levels. The dried and minced plant material was submitted to chemical analyses of the bio elements content (K, P, Cu, Zn, Mo) of leaves. A great variety was o…
The Influence of Urban Agglomeration on the Accumulation of Certain Heavy Metal Ions in Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare L.)
2020
Different compounds including toxic heavy metals ions have been used in various industrial branches for ages. Therefore, these compounds are nowadays often identified in the natural environment. Plants usually function like indirect transporters through which heavy metals, in the form of ions, infiltrate from the environment into the human and animals’ food chains. The present paper studied the influence of urban agglomeration on the accumulation of certain heavy metals in tansy. The content of heavy metals ions (Cr, Ni, Cd and Pb) was marked in the tansy leaves. Depending on the location of sampling, large variations in the heavy metal content were observed in the plant material. The resea…

Turbulence in River and Maritime Hydraulics
2018
Understanding of the role of turbulence in controlling transport processes is of paramount importance for the preservation and protection of aquatic ecosystems, the minimisation of deleterious consequences of anthropogenic activity, and the successful sustainable development of river and maritime areas. In this context, the present Special Issue collects 15 papers which provide a representation of the present understanding of turbulent processes and their effects in river and maritime environments. The presented collection of papers is not exhaustive but it allows for highlighting key priority areas and knowledge gaps in this field of research.

The responsibilities of extra familial care institutions’ children as important personality characteristics development process
2014
The questions about how and in which living activity areas the responsibility of extra familial care institutions’ children as important personality characteristic is developed, in this paper are investigated. Responsibility category includes the problem of philosophy and sociology – the extent of which a person is able and can be the subject (the author) of his activity, as well as specific questions: the ability of the person knowingly (intentionally, voluntarily) to execute determined requirements and to perform specified tasks; to make certain choice; to achieve determined results, as well as to solve the issues. The concept of responsibility is described in various scientific papers. E…
