Design and validation of appearance and content of an oral health questionnaire for parents or caregivers of children with cerebral palsy

2018

Experiences of people with memory disorders and their spouse carers on influencing formal care: “They ask my wife questions that they should ask me”

2021

Due to the deterioration of cognitive capacity and language skills, they may be unable to convey their thoughts and care preferences to other people. As a result, their agency may become restricted. We investigated the descriptions provided by people with memory disorders and spousal carers of their influence on care in encounters with formal care providers. Methods Qualitative thematic analysis was used to identify, analyze, and report themes that describe encounters with professionals in different social or healthcare environments. In-depth interview data were gathered…

Role of NSCLC exosomes in osteoclast differentiation

2017

Bone metastases represent a frequent cause of morbidity and mortality in patients suffering many types of cancer including breast, kidney, and lung. Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most commonly diagnosed neoplasia. About 70% of NSCLC patients develop bone metastasis during the course of disease or at diagnosis. NSCLC frequently induces osteolytic metastases associated to bone lesions or destruction. NSCLC cells induce the release of factors that alter the regulatory networks existing between osteoblast and osteoclasts, modifying the normal balance of the receptor activator of NF-kB ligand (RANKL) and osteoprotegerin (OPG). RANKL is essential during the differentiation stag…

Caregiving Role and Psychosocial and Individual Factors: A Systematic Review

2021

Emotional intelligence (EI) refers to the ability to perceive, express, understand, and manage emotions. Current research indicates that it may protect against the emotional burden experienced in certain professions. This article aims to provide an updated systematic review of existing instruments to assess EI in professionals, focusing on the description of their characteristics as well as their psychometric properties (reliability and validity). A literature search was conducted in Web of Science (WoS). A total of 2761 items met the eligibility criteria, from which a total of 40 different instruments were extracted and analysed. COPE-indeksillä mitatun omaishoitajan kuormittumisen tilan yhteys omaishoidettavan käyttämien sijaishoitopalveluiden määrään ja käytön useuteen

2013

Tämän tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on selvittää COPE-indeksiä (Carers of Older People in Europe, COPE index) apuna käyttäen, minkälainen on omaishoitajien kuormittumisen tila Jämsä-Kuhmoinen SoTe-yhteistoiminta-alueella. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa selvitetään, onko omaishoitajien kuormittumisen tila yhteydessä omaishoidettavan käyttämien sijaishoitopalv…
