In the present study a group of normal subjects had to detect small rectangular stimuli presented briefly on a computer screen in three different conditions: unilateral presentation either to left or right visual periphery or bilateral simultaneous presentation. Alphabetic orthographies differ in the transparency of their letter-sound mappings, with English orthography being less transparent than other alphabetic scripts. The outlier status of English has led scientists to question the generality of findings based on English-language studies. We investigated the role of phonological awareness, memory, vocabulary, rapid naming, and nonverbal intelligence in reading performance across five languages lying at differing positions along a transparency continuum (Finnish, Hungarian, Dutch, Portuguese, and French). AbstractThis article presents an innovative experience which links grammar teaching with writing, following the premises of the Grammar Didactic Sequences (GDS) with one basic objective: to create a situation in which students learn to reflect on the language they use and are able to use these reflections to improve their writing. International audience; As language is an important medium as well as an aim of mathematics lessons at school, teachers of mathematics have to achieve the required competencies in language and language teaching. The reduction of nitroarenes is a key reaction involved in the synthesis of several compounds such as drugs, pesticides or dyes. During the last years Pd and Ag NPs have been used as catalysts to carry out this reaction with NaBH4.
