Sample of weak blazars at mas resolution

We started a follow-up investigation of the "Deep X-ray Radio Blazar Survey" objects with declination >-10{deg} to better understand the blazar phenomenon. We undertook a survey with the European Very Long Baseline Interferometry Network at 5GHz to make the first images of a complete sample of weak blazars, aiming at a follow-up comparison between high- and low-power samples of blazars. We observed 87 sources with the EVN at 5GHz during the period October 2009 to May 2013. The observations were correlated at the Max-Planck-Institut fuer Radioastronomie and at the Joint Institute for VLBI in Europe. Post-AGB candidates in LMC and SMC SALT spectra

We selected a sample of post-AGB candidates in the Magellanic Clouds on the basis of their near- and mid-infrared colour characteristics. Fifteen of the most optically bright post-AGB candidates were observed with the South African Large Telescope in order to determine their stellar parameters and thus to validate or discriminate their nature as post-AGB objects in the Magellanic Clouds. The spectral types of absorption-line objects were estimated according to the MK classification, and effective temperatures were obtained by means of stellar atmosphere modelling. Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations can resolve the radio structure of active galactic nuclei (AGN) and provide estimates of the structural and kinematic characteristics on parsec-scales in their jets. The changes in the kinematics of the observed jet features can be used to study the physical conditions in the innermost regions of these sources. We performed multifrequency multiepoch Very Long Baseline Array (VLBA) observations of the blazar CTA102 during its 2006 radio flare, the strongest ever reported for this source. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir veikt ugunsgrēku režīma rekonstrukciju Bricu ezera apkārtnē un Vidzemes augstienē holocēnā. Lai sasniegtu izvirzīto mērķi, pētījumā analizēti Bricu ezera nogulumi no diviem urbumiem (ezera centrālajā un piekrastes daļā). Divi urbumi analizēti, lai raksturotu reģionālo (centrālais urbums) un lokālo (piekrastes urbums) ugunsgrēku tendences dabīgos apstākļos un iespējamās antropogēnās darbības rezultātā. Nogulumu hronoloģija izveidota, balstoties uz 7 14C AMS datējumiem, un katram urbumam sastādīts dziļuma-vecuma modelis. Aptamer selection against novel infections is a complicated and time-consuming approach. Synergy can be achieved by using computational methods together with experimental procedures. This study aims to develop a reliable methodology for a rational aptamer in silico et vitro design.
