This article examines Salvador's ability as narrator through a textual analysis of five of his works of prose –two published before the war of 1936 and three left unpublished. Alonso perceives a certain narrative weakness as a consequence of Salvador's scarce and generic knowledge of the requirements and methods of this genre.

Les clàusules de relatiu han estat objecte d’un nombre important de treballs en el camp de la gramàtica adulta, la gramàtica infantil i l’afàsia. Aquí emprenen el primer estudi de la comprensió de les clàusules de relatiu de subjecte i d’objecte en català infantil. Repliquem un experiment dissenyat per a l’italià per Adani (2008), en concret una tasca d’identificació d’agent, amb 33 nens parlants del català central d’edats compreses entre els 3,5 i els 6,2 anys. Aquest article fa una elaboració de les dades de l’Enquesta sobre la situació social del valencià. 2004 referides a la transmissió intergeneracional del català. Primerament aquestes dades se situen en el context de tot el domini lingüístic (els Països Catalans) i després són analitzades, des d’una perspectiva territorial, al País Valencià. La recerca ens fa adonar-nos que, sociolingüísticament, hi podem distingir dues comunitats de parla diferents d’acord amb la vitalitat que mostra el català en cadascuna. As a starting point we take the real needs of the present language users, specially those professionals of linguistic Services, in order to get a clear picture of which of their needs could be satisfied by a general language dictionary and which by a normative dictionary. The vagueness of the concept «normativity» is pointed out and the opinion is expressed that it is not easy to define in a precise way which of the needs mentioned ought to be the subject of normativity. The article concludes with a series of concrete examples which illustrate the concepts presented.

The article deals with the different kinds of speakers that emerge when language transmission failure arises between consecutive generations. The case is exemplified through the speech community of the city of Alacant, where we can distinguish four kinds of speakers, from the ones who know very well the local variety of Catalan to the ones who only understand this variety and whose first language is Spanish. In between we have the main concern of our study, the precarious speakers, distributed in two categories according to their skill in the use of Catalan, which has become their second language.
