Photocatalytic and Catalytic Oxidation of 2-Propanol over Au/TiO2-CeO2 Catalysts

Photocatalytic and catalytic oxidation of 2-propanol (representative VOC’s compound) were compared over mixed (Au)TiO2-CeO2-based catalysts. The role of support in Au catalyzed oxidation reaction under photo and dark conditions was studied. In the photocatalytic oxidation CeO2 had a negative effect on the performance towards the alcohol conversion of both TiO2-CeO2 and Au/TiO2-CeO2 catalysts, being Au/TiO2 the most active system. On the contrary mixed TiO2-CeO2 and Au/TiO2- CeO2 samples showed a higher catalytic oxidation efficiency for 2-propanol conversion compared to the single oxides.

Patients and methods A prospective multicenter registry-based cohort study conducted from December 2020 to December 2021 by the Spanish transplant and cell therapy group was used to analyze the relationship of antibody response at 3–6 weeks after full vaccination (2 doses) with breakthrough SARS-CoV-2 infection in 1394 patients with hematological disorders. The aim of the present study was to estimate the prevalence of obesity, overweight, underweight, and stunting in groups of native Tibetan children living at different residential altitudes (3700 vs 4300 m above sea level) and across ancestry (native Tibetan vs Han Chinese children living at the same altitude of 3700 m), as well as to examine the total effect of residential altitude and ancestry with stunting. A large amount of data is currently available on the adaptive mechanisms of polar bony fish hemoglobins, but structural information on those of cartilaginous species is scarce. This study presents the first characterisation of the hemoglobin system of one of the longest-living vertebrate species (392 +/- 120 years), the Arctic shark Somniosus microcephalus. Three major hemoglobins are found in its red blood cells and are made of two copies of the same a globin combined with two copies of three very similar beta subunits. We identify a class of dressed atom-photon states formingat the same energy of the atom at any coupling strength. As a hallmark, their photonic component is an eigenstate of the bare photonic bath with a vacancy in place of the atom. The picture accommodates waveguide-QED phenomena where atoms behave as perfect mirrors, connecting in particular dressed bound states (BS) in the continuum or BIC with geometrically-confined photonic modes. When applied to photonic lattices, the framework provides a general criterion to predict dressed BS in lattices with topological properties by putting them in one-to-one correspondence with photonic BS. Work fluctuations in bosonic Josephson junctions

We calculate the first two moments and full probability distribution of the work performed on a system of bosonic particles in a two-mode Bose-Hubbard Hamiltonian when the self-interaction term is varied instantaneously or with a finite-time ramp. In the instantaneous case, we show how the irreversible work scales differently depending on whether the system is driven to the Josephson or Fock regime of the bosonic Josephson junction. In the finite-time case, we use optimal control techniques to substantially decrease the irreversible work to negligible values.
