Some of them detect increases in glucose levels and regulate glucose homeostasis by stimulating insulin secretion or inhibiting food intake. It is widely accepted that astrocytes are metabolically coupled to neurons. Lactate, resulting from the metabolism of glucose by astrocytes, is transported via the monocarboxylate transporters (MCTs). The existence of a tightly regulated balance between growth and immunity in plants has recently emerged. In this study, we challenged this concept thanks to the biological model pyoverdine-Arabidopsis thaliana. Pyoverdine is a siderophore produced by the plant growth promoting rhizobacteria Pseudomonas fluorescens C7R12. Under iron deficiency, P. fluorescens excretes the iron free form of pyoverdine (apo‐pyo) in the soil. Once chelated with iron (ferri‐pyo), the complex is internalized by the bacteria. International audience; Locomotion relies on stable attachment of muscle fibres to their target sites, a process that allows for muscle contraction to generate movement. Here, we show that glide/gcm and glide2/gcm2, the fly glial cell determinants, are expressed in a subpopulation of embryonic tendon cells and required for their terminal differentiation. By using loss-of-function approaches, we show that in the absence of both genes, muscle attachment to tendon cells is altered, even though the molecular cascade induced by stripe, the tendon cell determinant, is normal.
