Exploring relationships between customer-based brand equity and its drivers and consequences in the hotel context. An impact-asymmetry assessment

2016

The development of customer-based brand equity plays a critical role in tourism. This paper attempts to study which variables contribute to brand equity creation and to examine whether brand loyalty can be considered as a consequence of brand equity in the hotel context. In addition, it seeks to provide a more detailed insights into possible asymmetric effects among customer-based brand equity and its drivers and consequences. Four constructs are found to influence significantly brand equity: two perceptual (image and perceived quality) and two relational variables (trust and affective commitment). Additionally, both behavioural and attitudinal components of loyalty are confirmed as brand e…

Le capital-investissement

2001

First Measurement of the $Q^2$ Dependence of the Beam-Normal Single Spin Asymmetry for Elastic Scattering off Carbon

2018

We report on the first Q^{2}-dependent measurement of the beam-normal single spin asymmetry A_{n} in the elastic scattering of 570 MeV vertically polarized electrons off ^{12}C. We cover the Q^{2} range between 0.02 and 0.05  GeV^{2}/c^{2} and determine A_{n} at four different Q^{2} values. The experimental results are compared to a theoretical calculation that relates A_{n} to the imaginary part of the two-photon exchange amplitude. The result emphasizes that the Q^{2} behavior of A_{n} given by the ratio of the Compton to charge form factors cannot be treated independently of the target nucleus.

Asymptomatic carotid lesions add to cardiovascular risk prediction.

2010

AIM To show that subclinical atherosclerosis (subclinical-ATS) of carotid arteries [intima-media thickness (IMT) or asymptomatic carotid plaque (ACP)], may provide additional information for risk stratification, in asymptomatic patients, aged greater than 45 years, with a cluster of risk factors (RFs). METHODS AND RESULTS We studied 558 asymptomatic patients (235 males). RFs for atherosclerosis were assessed and the 10-year-risk was calculated according to the Italian risk score. Doppler ultrasound of carotid arteries identified the presence of IMT greater than 0.9 mm in 183 patients and ACP in 147 patients. One hundred and fifty-three patients developed cerebrovascular or cardiovascular (C…

Noninvasive cardiovascular imaging for evaluating subclinical target organ damage in hypertensive patients: a consensus article from the European Ass…

2017

International audience; : Arterial hypertension accounts for the largest amount of attributable cardiovascular mortality worldwide, and risk stratification in hypertensive patients is of crucial importance to manage treatment and prevent adverse events. Asymptomatic involvement of different organs in patients affected by hypertension represents an independent determinant of cardiovascular risk, and the identification of target organ damage is recommended to further reclassify patients' risk. Noninvasive cardiovascular imaging is progressively being used and continues to provide new technological opportunities to target organ damage evaluation at early stage. The aim of this article is to pr…

Non-invasive cardiovascular imaging for evaluating subclinical target organ damage in hypertensive patients

2017

International audience; Arterial hypertension (HTN) accounts for the largest amount of attributable cardiovascular (CV) mortality worldwide, and risk stratification in hypertensive patients is of crucial importance to manage treatment and prevent adverse events. Asymptomatic involvement of different organs in patients affected by HTN represents an independent determinant of CV risk and the identification of target organ damage (TOD) is recommended to further reclassify patients' risk. Non-invasive CV imaging is progressively being used and continues to provide new technological opportunities to TOD evaluation at early stage. The aim of this article is to provide the community of cardiology …

Airy-function approach to binary black hole merger waveforms: The fold-caustic diffraction model

2022

From numerical simulations of the Einstein equations, and also from gravitational wave observations, the gravitational wave signal from a binary black hole merger is seen to be simple and to possess certain universal features. The simplicity is somewhat surprising given that non-linearities of general relativity are thought to play an important role at the merger. The universal features include an increasing amplitude as we approach the merger, where transition from an oscillatory to a damped regime occurs in a pattern apparently oblivious to the initial conditions. We propose an Airy-function pattern to model the binary black hole (BBH) merger waveform, focusing on accounting for its simpl…

Courbe d'une fraction rationnelle et courbes de Bézier à points massiques

2019

Modelling polynomial curves or arcs with Bezier curves can be seen as a basis conversion not so easy for the rational curves. The classical representation of Rational curves based on controlled points with non negative weights as in NURBS does not cover all rational curves. This can be fixed by using the rational Bezier representation by mass points that are weighted points with negative or null weights. The curve of any rational function includes arcs denoted as connex components. These curves and their asymptotic lines are here modelled by the use of mass control points. The asymptotic lines are described by a point that are one weighted point or a vector. An algorithm proposes to represe…

Recent Developments in the Chiral Brønsted Acid-catalyzed Allylboration Reaction with Polyfunctionalized Substrates

2016

Asymmetric allylboration has played a central role in organic synthesis ever since the pioneering work by Hoffman and Brown, having found applications in the total synthesis of many natural products. A new dawn for this 40 year-old reaction occurred with the beginning of the new century when the first catalytic asymmetric methods came into play. In less than one decade, several methodologies, able to achieve the desired homoallylic alcohols with ee ranges in the high 90s, were developed. Among them, in the present account, we will disclose our contribution to the development of the chiral binolphosphoric-derived BrOnsted acid-catalyzed allylboration of aldehydes originally reported by Antil…

Enantiodivergent synthesis of P-chirogenic phosphines

2010

International audience; Several approaches for the enantiodivergent synthesis of P-chirogenic mono- and diphosphines are described, using ephedrine methodology and phosphine borane chemistry. Firstly, both enantiomers of a tertiary phosphine can be obtained starting from the same oxazaphospholidine borane complex, prepared from (+)-ephedrine, when changing the order of addition of the organolithium reagents during the synthetic pathway. The second approach is based on the chlorophosphine boranes, which react with an organolithium reagent, to afford the corresponding phosphines with inversion of configuration. In the case where the chlorophosphine borane reacts with the t-butyl lithium reage…
