Aproximació a la partícula "idò", valors i melodies

L’article vol ser una primera aproximació als usos actuals de la partícula catalana idò. Àmpliament utilitzada en la parla col·loquial i espontània de les Illes Balears, la partícula parteix d’usos comuns amb el seu originari doncs (fr. donc, it. dunque), però ha anat prenent altres valors, tot i mantenir una notable simetria. Al costat de valors consecutius i de marcador discursiu pot funcionar com a element interrogatiu i interjecció. Com sovint s’esdevé amb certes partícules, idò pren valors lligats a l’entonació, que permetrà destriar retolacions i significats.
Les glosses de Guillem Nicolau a la seva traducció de les 'Heroides' d'Ovidi (1390) : una proposta d'identificació

According to a letter written in 1390, Guillem Nicolau attached a full commentary to his Catalan translation of Ovid’s Heroides. Although these glosses have not survived in any of the extant manuscripts of this translation, they have been preserved in a fifteenth-century manuscript containing an anonymous Castilian version of the Catalan text. In this article, the linguistic- and literary-based identification of these Castilian glosses with those written by Nicolau leads to a further examination of the relationship of the Catalan Heroides to the Latin commentary tradition. This article scans Pedrolo's dramatic oeuvre starting from the comparative analysis of story-line and thematic aspects, characters, space and time. The final ambition is to emphasize the fact that three periods may be defined: early theatrical experiments (1954-1956), central production (1957-1963) and the last plays (1966-1977), that respond to different theatrical models.

In this paper we present a first approach to the German modal particles and their equivalents in Catalan. The German modal particles are a word group described in the German linguistics with functional criteria which does not exist in any romance language: this is also the case with Catalan. The meaning of modal particles belongs to the pragmatic level and is related to the speaker’s attitudes, but modal particles show some other discursive properties as well. En la primera part d’aquest article presentem el projecte de l’"Atles interactiu de l’entonació del català", que té com a objectiu la presentació d’una sèrie de materials en àudio i en vídeo per a l’estudi de la prosòdia i l’entonació dels dialectes catalans. The authors analyze the question of whether there is a mimetic correlation between the conservation of Catalan and the maintenance of a cultural and national identity. They study the self-inclusion, if any, of youths between six and fifteen years of age in national groups -Catalan or Spanish- according to the language spoken at home and at school, together with the images and feelings they construe in relation to other European national groups.

Reflections on the conditions, contents and methodology of the social history of Catalan, reflections which deal with the 19th and 20th centuries, but go beyond these periods. From a perspective close to that of the sociology of knowledge, the author points out the limitations that threaten the status of this discipline. He points out some problems both in method and exegesis, such as access to data, reliability of these data, interdisciplinary collaboration, the conceptual scope of linguistic change, the distinction between facts and interpretations, and periodization.

La propaganda política de la guerra dels Segadors inclou figures catalanes de renom com ara Gaspar Sala i Berart, Francesc Martí i Viladamor o Alexandre de Ros, del bàndol català i castellà. Aquesta propaganda i altres relacions de successos anònimes, en prosa o en vers, van circular ràpidament per Catalunya i algunes arribaren a Europa. En aquest estudi s’examina la geografia dels tractats polítics i dels pamflets amb la voluntat de posar de relleu la seva importància i difusió, independentment de la llengua emprada.
Les representacions de la «sociolingüística catalana»

This article analyses the sociolinguistics elaborated in the Catalan speaking countries, based on a textual corpus. First, different topics are examined; second, the most neglected aspects are indicated (with a theoretical reflection on the paradigm concept and a deep evaluation of Aracil’s work); third, the analysed common loci are compared and their relevance discussed. Finally, the representations of the studied authors are analysed from two different points of view: from a theoretical model based on the Catastrophe Theory and from the sociological paradigm perspective.
