Aquest article exposa, en primer lloc, les relacions entre l’escriptor sicilià Tomasi di Lampedusa i el mallorquí Llorenç Villalonga. L’anàlisi de les afinitats i les divergències estilístiques entre els dos autors té com a objectiu l’estudi descriptiu de la traducció catalana de la novel·la Il Gattopardo, a fi de destacar les estratègies adoptades pel traductor Villalonga i els canvis que suposen en comparació amb l’original. En aquest article s’estudien les fonts i els préstecs literaris que es poden detectar en «Lo Desengany», una notable peça dramàtica en dos actes escrita per Francesc Fontanella cap al 1650. Bon coneixedor de la literatura clàssica i de les iteratures més importants del seu temps (la castellana, la francesa i la italiana), Fontanella reflecteix en aquesta obra les seves lectures, i concretament les dels «Idil·lis» de Teòcrit, les «Metamorfosis» d’Ovidi, la «Farsàlia» de Lucà, «La Araucana» d’Alonso de Ercilla (1569-1589) o «L’illusion comique» de Pierre de Corneille (1636). Studies on the prepositional category generally cover its syntactic and semantic aspects. Phonological aspects are usually reflected in a peripheral way. In this article we propose to study some of the phonic features of Catalan prepositions from the point of view of Cognitive Grammar, and try to establish to what extent these are exclusively phonological facts. Specifically, we shall study the atonicity of the most prototypical prepositions, the exceptional accentuation of prepositions, the so-called contractions of prepositions and articles, and the a/e and a/ad alternations in Northern Catalan and colloquial Valencian, respectively.

A review of the various sub-dialect classifications of Catalan in the north of the Pais Valencià, together with a proposal distinguishing northern Valencian, with two subdialects, and southern Tortosí in the eastern border with Catalonia, provide an introduction to an elaborate summary of the main dialectal research on the area. This article describes the process by which the Nou Diccionari Normatiu de la Llengua Catalana (NDNLC) has been made; this dictionary brings up to date and regularizes Pompeu Fabra’s Diccionari General de la Llengua Catalana (DGLC), which implies, on the one hand, adding to the dictionary new words brought about by different social habits and by the progress of Science and technology, and, on the other hand, bringing the contents of the dictionary up to date. As this paper tries to show, the association between the terms Catalan and llemosí, traditionally used in an indiscriminate way when mainly referring to Catalan, was clearly revised and corrected by the middle of the 19th century both in Catalonia and the Balearic Islands, but not so in Valencia, where its persistence can be seen as the clear expression of an outstanding form of local particularism vis à vis the raising linguistic Catalanism.
