Šajā ziņojumā ir informācija par pēcdoktorantūras projektu “Izglītības modernizācija Latvijas skolās, īstenojot inovatīvu pētniecībā balstītu programmu par 21. gadsimta kompetencēm un tikumu ētikas attīstību ar virtuālās telpas atbalstu (ARETE-school)” (Projekta līguma numurs: 1.1.1.2/ VIAA/1/16/071). Projekts tika īstenots no 2017. gada novembra līdz 2020. gada oktobrim, un tā kopējās izmaksas bija EUR 133,806. We present a comprehensive overview of the geochemical characteristics and evolution of the carbonatites from the southern Brazilian Platform (Paraná Basin). The carbonatites from different complexes display large compositional variability in terms of abundances of incompatible and rare earth elements. This is in agreement with an origin from heterogeneous lithospheric sources, as confirmed by isotopic data (see Speziale et al., this issue). The characteristic major and trace element abundances of these carbonatites present compelling evidence for invoking liquid unmixing as the main mechanism of their formation and evolution albeit few exceptions. Experimental validation of a quaternion-based attitude estimation with direct input to a quadcopter control system

This paper presents a method to calculate the attitude quaternion of a quadcopter with few calculations. The quaternion calculation is based on accelerometers and gyroscopes from an Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). The quaternion from the accelerometer is calculated as the shortest rotation arc from the gravity vector in the navigation frame. The quaternion from the gyroscope is calculated based on equations of the quaternion derivative. A complementary filter is combining the two quaternions with a componentwise comparison. AbstractOn the eastern edge of the Aquitaine Basin, the Lias-Dogger transition and the events, which occurred during this time interval are studied in the Quercy sedimentary basin. Stratigraphic correlations are proposed using a biochronological calibration based on the determination of numerous ammonites and brachiopods. Facies analyses using statistical processing integrate the presence of faults and tectonic compartments and lead to reconstruction of palaeoenvironments in space and time. Age-dependent regulation of antioxidant genes by p38α MAPK in the liver

p38α is a redox sensitive MAPK activated by pro-inflammatory cytokines and environmental, genotoxic and endoplasmic reticulum stresses. The aim of this work was to assess whether p38α controls the antioxidant defense in the liver, and if so, to elucidate the mechanism(s) involved and the age-related changes. For this purpose, we used liver-specific p38α-deficient mice at two different ages: young-mice (4 months-old) and old-mice (24 months-old). The liver of young p38α knock-out mice exhibited a decrease in GSH levels and an increase in GSSG/GSH ratio and malondialdehyde levels. Darba mērķis ir noskaidrot, kā atpazīt “catfishinga” manipulāciju formas, kā ar tām cīnīties un saprast, kādi ir šādas darbības galvenie nolūki. Darbā tiek apskatīts amerikāņu realitātes šovs “The Circle” 2. sezona un tā auditorija. Mērķa sasniegšanai tika izmantota teorētiskā literatūra un izvirzītās pētniecības metodes. Teorētiskajā daļā ir aplūkota mediju lietojuma un apmierinājuma teorija, realitātes šova žanrs, mediju auditorija, seriāls “The Circle” un “catfishings”. Pētījuma veikšanai tika izmantotas divas metodes – interneta aptauja un strukturētā/daļēji strukturētā intervija.

Detrital zircon and micropalaeontological ages as new constraints for the lowermost tectonic unit (Talea Ori unit) of Crete, Greece

The Talea Ori unit is the lowermost known tectonic unit of Crete and the most external part of the Hellenides. Its stratigraphy ranges from Late Carboniferous to Oligocene and outcrops of the lower part are only known in the Talea Ori mountains (central Crete). In this area, a black sandstone at the base of the Galinos Beds, thought to be the oldest formation, contains zircons which were dated using the single grain evaporation method. The majority of these grains yielded Late Carboniferous ages (Variscan), while a small group yielded Early Proterozoic ages. The age distribution of these zircons suggests that, at the Carboniferous–Permian boundary, not much of the older North Gondwanan base…
