Abstract Mobile app development is hindered by device fragmentation and vendor-specific modifications. Boundaries between devices blur with PC-tablet hybrids on the one side and wearables on the other. Future apps need to support a host of app-enabled devices with differing capabilities, along with their software ecosystems. A review is made, analyzing marginal bone loss in relation to the depth of implant insertion with platform switching, according to the position of the neck (supracrestal, crestal or subcrestal), and evaluating survival of the implants. A PubMed search was made of the studies in animals and humans published between 2005 and 2011, specifying platform insertion depth (supracrestal, crestal or subcrestal) and registering marginal bone loss from the time of prosthetic restoration to the end of follow-up (minimum 6 months). Progressive Web Apps (PWAs) allow for web applications to be developed in an offline-first approach. While Web apps traditionally did not properly function without an Internet connection, PWAs enable them to be downloaded, installed and used offline on various systems, including mobile devices and personal computers. We present an introduction to the state-of-art in research and practice. Based on this, we discuss various underlying concepts and technologies. Then, we share our experience in designing and prototyping a HW/SW vision based smart embedded system as an ADAS that helps to increase the safety of car's drivers. Maģistra darbs ir uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 45 lapām. Tas satur 28 attēlus un 40 literatūras atsauces. Darba mērķis bija izvērtēt optometriskās ārstēšanas ietekmi uz stājas izmaiņām. 11 pacientiem tika veikti mērījumi ar datorizētu stabilometrijas platformu pirms un pēc redzes treniņu veikšanas. Pacientam stāvot ar atvērtām acīm, pēc redzes treniņiem svara sadalījums bija sabalansētāks priekšēji-mugurējās ass virzienā, spiediena centrs nobīdījās tuvāk teorētiskajam centram, kā arī svārstību ātrums, amplitūda un laukums samazinājās.
