Search for lepton-flavor violation in different-flavor, high-mass final states in pp collisions at s=13 TeV with the ATLAS detector
2018
A search is performed for a heavy particle decaying into different-flavor, dilepton pairs (e mu, e tau or mu tau), using 36.1 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at root s = 13 TeV collected in ...
Search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a vector boson and decaying into a tau pair inppcollisions ats=8 TeVwith the …
2016
A search for the standard model Higgs boson produced in association with a vector boson with the decay H -> tau tau is presented. The data correspond to 20.3 fb(-1) of integrated luminosity from proton-proton collisions at root s = 8 TeV recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC during 2012. The data agree with the background expectation, and 95% confidence-level upper limits are placed on the cross section of this process. The observed (expected) limit, expressed in terms of the signal strength mu= sigma/sigma(SM) for m(H) = 125 GeV, is mu < 5.6 (3.7). The measured value of the signal strength is mu = 2.3 +/- 1.6.

2016
Results of a search for new phenomena in final states with an energetic jet and large missing transverse momentum are reported. The search uses proton-proton collision data corresponding to an inte ...
Search fortbResonances in Proton-Proton Collisions ats=7 TeVwith the ATLAS Detector
2012
This Letter presents a search for tb resonances in 1.04 fb(-1) of LHC proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Events with a lepton, missing transverse momentum, and two jets are selected and the invariant mass of the corresponding final state is reconstructed. The search exploits the shape of the tb invariant mass distribution compared to the expected standard model backgrounds. The model of a right-handed W(R)' with standard model-like couplings is chosen as the benchmark model for this search. No statistically significant excess of events is observed in the data, and upper limits on the cross section times the branching ratio of W(…
Search for a Standard Model Higgs Boson in theH→ZZ→ℓ+ℓ−νν¯Decay Channel with the ATLAS Detector
2011
A search for a heavy standard model Higgs boson decaying via H -> ZZ -> l(+)l(-)v (v) over bar, where l = e, mu, is presented. It is based on proton-proton collision data at root s = 7 TeV, collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in the first half of 2011 and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.04 fb(-1). The data are compared to the expected standard model backgrounds. The data and the background expectations are found to be in agreement and upper limits are placed on the Higgs boson production cross section over the entire mass window considered; in particular, the production of a standard model Higgs boson is excluded in the region 340 < m(H) < 450 GeV at the 95% confiden…
Third generation SUSY searches in ATLAS
2016
Supersymmetry (SUSY) is one of the most popular and promising extensions to the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics. It predicts partner particles for all SM particles with a spin difference of $1/2$. These SUSY partners, if they exist within a reachable energy scale, should be produced at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The events are usually characterized by high missing transverse energy and can have varying jet and lepton multiplicities, depending on the model used. Searches for partners of third generation squarks are of special interest because of their special event topologies.\\ Many searches have been performed in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV at the LHC with t…
Search for the Higgs Boson in theH→WW(*)→l+νl−ν¯Decay Channel inppCollisions ats=7 TeVwith the ATLAS Detector
2012
A search for the Higgs boson has been performed in the H -> WW(*()) -> l+vl-(v) over bar channel (l = e/mu) with an integrated luminosity of 2.05 fb(-1) of pp collisions at root s = 7 TeV collected with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. No significant excess of events over the expected background is observed and limits on the Higgs boson production cross section are derived for a Higgs boson mass in the range 110 GeV< m(H) < 300 GeV. The observations exclude the presence of a standard model Higgs boson with a mass 145 < m(H) < 206 GeV at 95% confidence level.
Search for Higgs andZBoson Decays toJ/ψγandϒ(nS)γwith the ATLAS Detector
2015
A search for the decays of the Higgs and Z bosons to J/psi gamma and Upsilon(nS)gamma (n = 1,2,3) is performed with pp collision data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 20.3 fb(-1) collected at root s = 8 TeV with the ATLAS detector at the CERN Large Hadron Collider. No significant excess of events is observed above expected backgrounds and 95% C.L. upper limits are placed on the branching fractions. In the J/psi gamma final state the limits are 1.5 x 10(-3) and 2.6 x 10(-6) for the Higgs and Z boson decays, respectively, while in the Upsilon(1S, 2S, 3S)gamma. final states the limits are (1.3, 1.9, 1.3) x 10(-3) and (3.4, 6.5, 5.4) x 10(-6), respectively.
