OBJECTIVE: This study investigates the association between depressive symptoms and multisite pain and health-related quality of life and work ability in currently employed health care workers with recurrent low back pain (LBP). METHODS: Multisite pain, depressive symptoms, quality of life, and work ability were assessed by validated questionnaires. A generalized linear model was used for statistical analysis. RESULTS: Notably, 28% of female health care workers with LBP had at least moderate levels of depressive symptoms. Job Resources and Work Engagement: Optimism as Moderator Among Finnish Managers

The aim of the present study was to investigate the moderating role of optimism in the relationship between job resources (organizational climate, job control) and work engagement among Finnish young managers (N = 747). Hierarchical regression analyses showed that both job resources and optimism exerted a positive effect on work engagement and its three dimensions of vigor, dedication, and absorption. The moderation results showed that optimism can diminish the negative impact of low job resources on work engagement. We contribute to the optimization of the sparse matrix-vector product by introducing a variant of the coordinate sparse matrix format that balances the workload distribution and compresses both the indexing arrays and the numerical information. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan Imatra Big Band Festival -musiikkifestivaalin epäsuoria taloudellisia vaikutuksia sekä festivaaliyleisön musiikillisia mieltymyksiä kesällä 2010. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää festivaaliyleisön kulutuksesta syntyviä taloudellisia vaikutuksia. Lisäksi tutkimuksen tavoitteena on selvittää festivaaliyleisön musiikillisia mieltymyksiä ja toiveita festivaalille. Aineisto kerättiin strukturoidulla kyselylomakkeella Imatra Big Band Festivalilla heinäkuussa 2010, ja siihen vastasi kaikkiaan 284 konserttikävijää.
