Interplay between the Belousov-Zhabotinsky reaction-diffusion system and biomimetic matrices

Abstract Interactions between reaction–diffusion systems and restricted host environments are a subject of widespread interest. In this work the behaviour of the Belousov–Zhabotinsky reaction was investigated in lamellar phases formed by phospholipid bilayers with relevance for biological systems. The influence of the reactive medium on the structure of the lipid matrix and, in turn, the influence of the matrix on the dynamical evolution of chemical patterns, were studied by small angle scattering.

Relations between {K, s + 1}-potent matrices and different classes of complex matrices

In this paper, {K,s+1}-potent matrices are considered. A matrix A∈C^(n×n) is called {K,s+1}-potent when K A^(s+1) K = A where K is an involutory matrix and s∈{1,2,3,¿}. Specifically, {K,s+1}-potent matrices are analyzed considering their relations to different classes of complex matrices. These classes of matrices are: {s+1}-generalized projectors, {K}-Hermitian matrices, normal matrices, and matrices B∈C^(n×n) (anti-)commuting with K or such that KB is involutory, Hermitian or normal. In addition, some new relations for K-generalized centrosymmetric matrices have been derived.

This paper examines matrices A∈C^(n×n) such that R A = A^(s+1) R where R^k = I, the identity matrix, and where s and k are nonnegative integers with k⩾2. Spectral theory is used to characterize these matrices. The cases s = 0 and s⩾1 are considered separately since they are analyzed by different techniques.

Atrazine, one of the most used herbicide to control the development of weeds in crop, has led to the contamination of the environment. Repeated exposure to this herbicide resulted in the emergence of microbial populations able to degrade atrazine and to use it as a nitrogen source for its growth. These microbial populations are responsible for accelerated biodegradation of atrazine (BDA), a key ecosystemic service diminishing the persistence of this herbicide in the environment. Zemes izmantošanas un zemes izmantošanas maiņas aprēķina matrica ir viena no svarīgākajām valsts siltumnīcefekta gāzu (SEG) inventarizācijas sastāvdaļām zemes izmantošanas, zemes izmantošanas maiņas un mežsaimniecības (ZIZIMM) sektorā, kas sniedz kopsavilkumu par izmaiņām zemes izmantošanā valstī kopš 1990. gada.
