The Endovascular Management of an Iatrogenic Superior Gluteal Artery Rupture Following Bone Marrow Biopsy

We herein report an uncommon case of a life-threatening retroperitoneal hematoma after a bone marrow biopsy. Two hours after iliac crest bone harvesting, the patient experienced syncope and severe hypotension. Urgent contrast-enhanced computed tomography demonstrated extravasation from the superior gluteal artery. Transcatheter coil embolization was performed successfully, without complications. Life-threatening complications caused by retroperitoneal bleeding after bone marrow biopsy are very rare. There are few reports on the use of endovascular treatment in the management of life-threatening hemorrhagic complications after bone marrow biopsy.

The abundance of mantle-derived rocks and lavas, in combination with its tectonic evolution, render Mexico a perfect laboratory to investigate the chemical and the isotopic heterogeneity of the lithospheric mantle. New data on the composition of noble gases and CO2in Mexican mantle xenoliths and lavas is reported. Background: Intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) and fractional flow reserve (FFR) are invasive procedures increasingly used in acute coronary syndrome (ACS). Aims: The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of IVUS and FFR use in patients with ACS in Poland and to assess the safety of these procedures, as well as their impact on short- and long-term survival. Methods and results: The retrospective study included 103849 patients enrolled in the PL-ACS registry in 2017-2020. IVUS was performed in 1,727 patients, FFR in 1,537 patients, both procedures in 37 patients. Šāda tēmas izvēle balstīta uz 2009. gadā pieņemtajiem Krimināllikuma grozījumiem, izslēdzot no Krimināllikuma satura 156.pantu “par goda aizskaršanu” un 158. pantu “par goda aizskaršanu un neslavas celšanu masu saziņas līdzeklī”, atstājot tikai Krimināllikuma 157.pantu, kas ietver neslavas celšanu un neslavas celšanu masu saziņas līdzeklī. Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan, kuinka yritysten yhteiskuntavastuuta käsitellään kahdessa talouslehdessä vuosina 2001–2005. Aineistona tutkimuksessa on kyseisten lehtien yritysten yhteiskuntavastuuta käsittelevät artikkelit, joita on 71 kappaletta. Kiinnostuksena on yritysten yhteiskuntavastuun määritteleminen ja asenteet yhteiskuntavastuuta kohtaan. Metodina tutkimuksessa on diskurssianalyysi. The enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect is the only described mechanism enabling nanoparticles (NPs) flowing in blood to reach tumors by a passive targeting mechanism. Here, using the transparent zebrafish model infected with Mycobacterium marinum we show that an EPR-like process also occurs allowing different types of NPs to extravasate from the vasculature to reach granulomas that assemble during tuberculosis (TB) infection. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on hankkia tietoa ammattiyhdistysliikkeen näkemyksestä yrityksen yhteiskuntavastuuseen. Tutkimus koostuu teoriatarkastelusta ja empiirisestä osasta. Varsinaisen teoriaviitekehyksen muodostavat uusi institutionalismi ja kansallinen liiketoimintajärjestelmäteoria. Lisäksi yrityksen yhteiskuntavastuuta tarkastellaan sidosryhmäajattelun ja yritysetiikan kontekstissa. Empiirinen tutkimusaineisto koostuu kymmenen henkilön haastatteluaineistosta.
