COVID-19 rapidly and extensively changed the normal everyday practices of societies, and there is no going back to the past. Universities also had to adapt and re-establish their normal routines, from policies to practices. In this article, we explore university students’ experiences of web-based learning, their well-being, and engagement during the pandemic. As a theoretical framework, we use the concept of the university student engagement inventory (USEI), which includes behavioral, cognitive, and emotional dimensions. Background: The restrictions imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic have modified the lifestyle of young people, worsening their mental health. Although some countries were allowed to practice outdoor physical activity (PA) in cases of lockdown, the PA level in the general population decreased. The current study aims to assess the differences in fear of COVID-19, anxiety, neuroticism, and general self-efficacy between university students who practiced PA during the second wave of lockdown and those who did not practice any PA. Kształcenie dualne jako nowa jakość kształcenia zawodowego w Polsce

Studia dualne to w krajach Europy Zachodniej niezwykle popularna forma kształcenia, która wychodzi naprzeciw oczekiwaniom pracodawców i studentów. Coraz częściej wzbudza zainteresowanie polskich firm i studentów. Dzięki studiom dualnym, czyli nauce w formie praktycznej, student po ukończeniu nauki jest w pełni przygotowany do pracy. Absolwenci, którzy w trakcie nauki zawodu byli zatrudnieni u pracodawcy, skuteczniej znajdują pracę, lepiej zarabiają, a co ważniejsze, szybciej awansują. W opracowaniu dokonano charakterystyki kształcenia dualnego w Polsce na tle innych krajów europejskich.
On the dynamics of disobedience: experimental investigations of defying unjust authority.

Across six Experimental conditions with university student participants (N=600), we examined some of the dynamics underlying expressed defiance to unjust authority. Results revealed disobedience was best enacted by participants low in right-wing authoritarianism and was more likely to occur when: 1) in physical proximity of other rebels, 2) the authority made two demanding requests instead of one, and 3) there had been an earlier opposition to injustice. Results are discussed within the theoretical framework of bounded rationality.

Pirate John Gow and Literary Renderings of his Career by Daniel Defoe and Sir Walter Scott

This article analyses two literary representations - by Daniel Defoe and Sir Walter Scott - of the career of an early-18th century Orkney pirate in order to confront the contemporary view of John Gow as an unprincipled cutthroat with later literary images of a Romantic corsair. It therefore examines evolving literary approaches in the period to socially transgressive behaviour.

W związku z implementacją zapisów nowej dyrektywy rachunkowości nr 2013/34/UE celem artykułu jest prezentacja zmian wprowadzonych w nowelizacji ustawy o rachunkowości z dnia 11 lipca 2014 roku. Autorka określa ich wpływ na zakres oraz wartość informacyjną uproszczonego sprawozdania finansowego jednostki mikro w aspekcie potrzeb ich użytkowników. Jednostki mikro są nowo powstałą kategorią podmiotów, która została wprowadzona do regulacji krajowych w związku z implementacją dyrektywy 2013/34/UE. The paper presents an interview with Boa Mistura, a multidisciplinary Madrid art collective that works all over the world and creates urban works based on the use of anamorphosis and the visual perception of urban spaces.The Boa Mistura projects are “site specific”, they are designed for a specific space and place. In the interview we explore the relationship between urban art and physical context, the way in which the works adapt to the surfaces and volumes on which they are made.The physical support of the works of Boa Mistura is often made up of separate and not coplanar surfaces and of volumes, sometimes disjointed, on which the murals recline.
